Germany’s financial regulator has warned about finanzforensik.com, where unknown operators allegedly offer services to recover crypto assets and transfer the funds to a wallet or bank account.
In a warning dated September 14, 2026, BaFin said the operators of finanzforensik.com and the email address info@finanzforensik.com falsely claim to be cooperation partners of BaFin.
The regulator said the operators are not supervised or authorised by BaFin. They also allegedly use the corporate details of Finanz Forensik GmbH, based in Flörsbachtal, in the website’s legal notice without authorisation, which BaFin described as identity misuse.
BaFin said providers offering crypto-asset services in Germany require regulatory permission. Investors can check whether a company is authorised through BaFin’s official company database.
The warning highlights a broader risk in online investment fraud: fraudulent operators may use regulatory names or legitimate companies’ information to create an appearance of credibility. BaFin, the German Federal Criminal Police Office and state police authorities advise consumers to research online investment offers carefully before transferring money.
Investors should independently verify the legal entity, website and regulatory status before using crypto-related services. Follow BrokersView for further regulatory warnings and investment scam updates.
