Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) has issued a fresh round of warnings against several websites suspected of offering unauthorized financial, securities, banking, and crypto-asset services. The regulator also identified multiple cases of identity misuse, where fraudulent operators falsely claimed associations with legitimate companies in Germany, the UK, and Switzerland.
Several warnings concern fraudulent fixed-term deposit (Festgeld) offers, while others involve unauthorized trading platforms and crypto-asset service providers. BaFin also highlighted a network of similarly designed investment websites operating under the same template, suggesting coordinated activity.
The regulator reminded investors that firms providing banking, investment, securities, or crypto-asset services in Germany must obtain BaFin authorization. Consumers are encouraged to verify a firm's regulatory status before investing and remain cautious of platforms using cloned corporate identities or promising unrealistic returns.
