Former England Footballer Michael Owen Promoted Ehamarkets Despite Earlier FCA and BrokersView Warnings

1 ชั่วโมงที่แล้ว BrokersView

Ehamarkets is facing scrutiny after former England footballer Michael Owen promoted the trading platform on social media, despite an FCA warning stating that the firm is not authorised to provide financial services in the UK.

The Times reported that Owen removed promotional posts after being contacted by the newspaper, while ehamarkets continues to feature him as a global brand ambassador.

FCA Warning and Celebrity Promotion

The FCA first published its Ehamarkets warning on October 7, 2025, and updated it on September 4, 2026. The regulator says the firm may be providing or promoting financial services without permission and advises consumers to avoid dealing with it.

The FCA warning lists ehamarkets.com and ehamarkets.net. It also warns that customers dealing with an unauthorised firm may not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Labuan Licence Claim Raises a Domain Question

Ehamarkets says it is owned by Hooya Plus Capital Inc. and operates under the Labuan Financial Services Authority (LFSA).

LFSA records do list Hooya Plus Capital Inc. as a money broker, with official records showing contact details linked to the hooyacapital.com domain.

However, a BrokersView investigation published in June 2026 found that the domain associated with the LFSA licence was hooyacapital.com rather than ehamarkets.com. BrokersView also found it found no information on the Hooya Capital website linking it to ehamarkets and could not independently verify Ehamarkets’ regulatory claim.

This creates an important distinction: the existence of a regulated entity named Hooya Plus Capital Inc. does not by itself establish that ehamarkets.com is covered by that licence. Investors should verify the exact legal entity, domain and permitted services with the regulator before depositing funds.

Investor Warning

For investors, a celebrity endorsement or regulatory claim displayed on a trading website should not replace an independent licence check. Ehamarkets has been placed on the FCA warning list, while the connection between its website and the LFSA-listed Hooya Plus Capital licence remains a point requiring verification.

Investors should check the broker’s legal entity, domain and regulatory permissions through official registers before trading and follow regulatory warnings and broker-risk updates on our website.
