BaFin Warns Against Unauthorised Investment and Crypto Platforms
Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) has issued new warnings against several websites suspected of offering unauthorised financial, banking and crypto-asset services, while also highlighting multiple cases of identity misuse involving legitimate financial firms.
According to the regulator, the operators behind the websites are not authorised to provide regulated services in Germany. Several platforms allegedly use the identities of legitimate companies to promote fixed-term deposit products or cryptocurrency investments. BaFin reminded consumers to verify whether a financial service provider is licensed before investing.
