The US Dollar strengthened against the Canadian Dollar on Thursday, with USD/CAD climbing toward 1.3975 as investors sought the safety of the Greenback amid persistent geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East.

Market sentiment remained cautious despite ongoing diplomatic discussions between the United States and Iran. The former resistance area around 1.3930–1.3940 has now transitioned into an important support zone. As long as prices remain above this level, the bullish market structure remains intact. A deeper layer of support can be found near 1.3850–1.3860, which previously acted as a major resistance barrier before being successfully breached. This level also aligns closely with the ascending trendline, making it a critical technical area for trend continuation.

The recent breakout from a short-term consolidation pattern suggests renewed bullish momentum. Following a brief corrective pullback, buyers stepped back into the market and defended higher lows, resulting in an impulsive bullish candle that pushed price back toward recent highs near 1.3980. This price behavior is typically associated with continuation rather than exhaustion.

A sustained break below 1.3930 would be the first sign that bullish momentum is fading. However, the broader uptrend would remain constructive while prices hold above the 1.3850–1.3860 support zone. A decisive breakdown beneath this area and the ascending trendline would represent a meaningful deterioration in market structure and could trigger a deeper correction toward 1.3740–1.3750, where another significant support region is visible. Failure there would expose the 1.3550 area and suggest a broader trend reversal rather than a normal pullback.

On the upside, bulls remain focused on extending the breakout above the recent swing highs around 1.3980. A sustained push above this level would likely attract additional momentum buying and open the path toward the psychological 1.4000 handle. Beyond that, the measured move projection from the recent consolidation points toward the 1.4100 area, which coincides with the upside target highlighted on the chart and represents the next major resistance objective.
