Sunoco Makes Its Return To Indycar, Joins Chip Ganassi Racing In Multi-Year Partnership

Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Metals, Real Estate and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.57%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.53%.

The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Tata Steel Ltd (NSE:TISC), which rose 3.38% or 5.62 points to trade at 172.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NSE:HALC) added 3.35% or 27.60 points to end at 851.95 and Eternal Ltd (NSE:ETEA) was up 2.37% or 6.90 points to 297.85 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (NSE:HLL), which fell 1.81% or 41.70 points to trade at 2,263.90 at the close. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NSE:SUN) declined 0.72% or 13.00 points to end at 1,794.20 and ITC Ltd (NSE:ITC) was down 0.55% or 2.20 points to 400.70.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC) which rose 3.40% to 172.00, Eternal Ltd (BO:ETEA) which was up 2.37% to settle at 298.00 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:ULTC) which gained 2.35% to close at 11,736.00.

The worst performers were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which was down 1.92% to 2,260.35 in late trade, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which lost 0.69% to settle at 1,794.50 and Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was down 0.57% to 2,763.30 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1580 to 899 and 34 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2423 rose and 1554 declined, while 162 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.17% to 10.07 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.88% or 38.15 to $4,351.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.26% or 0.15 to hit $57.45 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.17 to trade at $61.11 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.33% to 90.53, while EUR/INR rose 0.08% to 106.04.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 98.10.

At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 lost 0.32%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index lost 0.32%.

The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Eicher Motors Ltd. (NSE:EICH), which rose 1.60% or 114.00 points to trade at 7,237.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NSE:HALC) added 1.07% or 8.70 points to end at 821.60 and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NSE:HDFL) was up 1.06% or 8.10 points to 771.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Eternal Ltd (NSE:ETEA), which fell 3.09% or 9.00 points to trade at 282.70 at the close. Trent Ltd (NSE:TREN) declined 1.77% or 72.40 points to end at 4,013.00 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NSE:INBK) was down 1.66% or 14.00 points to 830.35.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC) which rose 0.87% to 162.00, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was up 0.75% to settle at 1,789.45 and ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which gained 0.55% to close at 403.05.

The worst performers were Eternal Ltd (BO:ETEA) which was down 3.03% to 282.85 in late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which lost 1.61% to settle at 830.90 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was down 1.10% to 2,064.60 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1408 to 1056 and 48 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2155 fell and 1834 advanced, while 137 ended unchanged.

Shares in Trent Ltd (NSE:TREN) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.77% or 72.40 to 4,013.00.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 0.41% to 11.00.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.39% or 16.55 to $4,219.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.10% or 0.06 to hit $58.31 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $61.95 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.20% to 90.07, while EUR/INR rose 0.13% to 104.65.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 98.79.
