Investing.com -- U.S. stock futures slipped lower Tuesday, with sentiment hit by concerns about the independence of the Federal Reserve after U.S. President Donald Trump announced the firing for Governor Lisa Cook.

Here are some of the biggest premarket U.S. stock movers today:

Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock rose 0.4% with the chip designer’s business in China set to be the focus of investors when the AI darling reports earnings on Wednesday.
Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY) stock rose 2.2% after the pharmaceutical giant announced positive results from a Phase 3 trial of its oral weight loss pill, paving the way for global regulatory submissions this year.
AT&T (NYSE:T) stock rose 0.4% after the telecom giant agreed to purchase certain wireless spectrum licenses from EchoStar for about $23 billion, as it scales its network to stay ahead in a competitive market.
PDD Holdings (NASDAQ:PDD) stock fell 1% after New Street Research downgraded the Temu parent company to ‘neutral’ from ‘buy’, pointing to limited revenue growth prospects and uncertain margin visibility despite a stronger-than-expected second-quarter performance.
Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) stock rose 2.2% after Truist upgraded the computer hardware manufacturer to ‘buy’ from ‘hold’, citing improving sentiment from industry contacts around the company’s data center and AI positioning.
Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ:IBKR) stock rose 4.1%, with the trading platform set to join the S&P 500 before markets open on August 28.
Wolfspeed (NYSE:WOLF) stock rose 3% after the chipmaker surpassed quarterly revenue expectations, even as the magnitude of its operating and net losses raised concerns among investors.
Spotify Technology (NYSE:SPOT) stock rose 0.1% after the music streaming service said it will start rolling out a messaging feature this week to both free and premium subscription tiers.

Eli Lilly Ready to Seek Obesity Pill Green Light After 3rd Study Hits Goals

Eli Lilly said a third late-stage study of its experimental anti-obesity pill hit its key goals, paving the way for the drugmaker to begin regulatory submissions.

Eli Lilly on Tuesday said the Phase 3 study of orforglipron in adults with obesity or overweight and type 2 diabetes met the primary and all key secondary endpoints at all three doses, showing significant weight loss, meaningful A1C reductions and improvements in cardiometabolic risk factors at 72 weeks.

The Indianapolis company said study participants lost an average of 22.9 pounds, or 10.5% of their body weight, on the highest dose, with A1C, a measure of blood-sugar levels, reduced by an average of 1.8%.

Eli Lilly said orforglipron also showed a safety profile consistent with injectable GLP-1 medicines, such as its blockbuster Mounjaro and Zepbound drugs.

Eli Lilly said it now has the full clinical data package it needs to initiate global regulatory submissions for orforglipron this year.

Orforglipron is expected to become a big seller if regulators approve it for sale. Morgan Stanley analysts had previously said that under their bull-case scenario, the pill's use for both obesity and diabetes could generate annual sales of up to $40 billion by 2033.

However, Eli Lilly earlier this month reported results from a separate Phase 3 study that fell short of what some analysts were predicting, denting Wall Street's enthusiasm.

Eli Lilly shares, which fell 14% on Aug. 7 after the earlier study results, were recently up 1.5% to $705.50 in premarket trading.

Lilly stock rises after weight loss drug succeeds in latest trial

Investing.com -- Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) stock rose in Tuesday premarket trading after the pharmaceutical giant announced positive results from a Phase 3 trial of its oral weight loss pill, paving the way for global regulatory submissions this year.

The ATTAIN-2 trial showed that orforglipron met its primary and all key secondary endpoints in adults with obesity or overweight and type 2 diabetes.

The once-daily oral medication also demonstrated significant improvements in blood sugar control, with A1C levels reduced by 1.8% from a baseline of 8.1% at the highest dose.

Share of Eli Lilly rose about 2% in premarket trading.

Additionally, 75% of participants on the 36mg dose achieved an A1C level at or below 6.5%, which falls below the American Diabetes Association’s definition of diabetes.

"With these positive data in hand, we are moving with urgency toward global regulatory submissions to potentially meet the needs of patients who are waiting," said Kenneth Custer, Lilly executive vice president and president of Lilly Cardiometabolic Health.

The safety profile was consistent with injectable GLP-1 medications, with gastrointestinal side effects being the most common adverse events. These included nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and dyspepsia, generally mild-to-moderate in severity.

The completion of ATTAIN-2 provides Lilly with the full clinical data package required for global regulatory submissions for orforglipron, which can be taken without food and water restrictions.

The company’s ATTAIN Phase 3 program has enrolled more than 4,500 people with obesity or overweight across two global registration trials.
