Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which rose 3.45% or 5.98 points to trade at 179.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) added 3.32% or 8.37 points to end at 260.23 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) was up 2.33% or 2.86 points to 125.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO), which fell 4.06% or 0.88 points to trade at 20.82 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) declined 1.58% or 6.70 points to end at 416.82 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) was down 1.56% or 3.70 points to 234.19.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 120 to 117 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) rose to all time highs; rising 3.32% or 8.37 to 260.23.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.15% or 6.20 to $4,238.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.41% or 0.83 to hit $59.78 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.12% or 0.70 to trade at $63.37 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.25% to 18.24, while EUR/MXN fell 0.47% to 21.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 99.04.
