Grab And GAC Partner To Deploy 20,000 EVs Across Southeast Asia

          Grab Holdings Limited Warrant
          0.00%

PARIS (dpa-AFX) - Grab, Southeast Asia's superapp, has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with GAC, a global pioneer in smart electric mobility, to roll out an initial fleet of 20,000 high-performance electric vehicles (EVs) across the region. The collaboration not only expands the diversity and scale of Grab's EV fleets but also emphasizes system integration to enhance the in-vehicle experience for driver-partners. Both companies are also exploring ways to strengthen after-sales support for Grab's operations.

As part of the partnership, GAC will introduce three of its flagship models-AionY, AionES, and Aion V-into Grab's fleets in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand. These vehicles are designed with features tailored to the demands of professional ride-hailing, including 90-degree door openings and generous rear legroom, ensuring greater comfort for both drivers and passengers.

A key highlight of the collaboration is the integration of the Grab driver app into GAC's intelligent cockpit system. This innovation enables driver-partners to access navigation, demand guidance, and safety alerts directly on GAC's large, easy-to-read cockpit display. By reducing the need to switch between devices, drivers can accept trips more seamlessly, minimize eye strain, and maintain better focus on road safety.

Momenta Partners Grab to Expand Autonomous Driving in Southeast Asia

Chinese autonomous-driving technology company Momenta is partnering ride-hailing platform Grab to expand its robotaxi services into Southeast Asia.

The companies said Thursday they are collaborating to bring autonomous driving technology to Southeast Asia. Momenta is rapidly developing its robotaxi technology and is moving toward a commercial launch of its robotaxi fleet, the statement said.

The move comes after Momenta recently announced its partnership with Mercedes-Benz Group to offer luxury robotaxi services in Abu Dhabi.

Momenta, which sells its autonomous driving assistance solutions to automakers, is also joining the growing competition in China's robotaxi landscape. The company said earlier this year that it will collaborate with Uber in Munich on a driverless robotaxi project, with testing expected to start in 2026.

Chinese robotaxi companies are entering a stage of large-scale commercialization with ongoing efforts to expand overseas, especially in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

WeRide and Pony AI already have autonomous-driving shuttles for test operations in certain areas of Singapore. Baidu also told The Wall Street Journal that it would enter Singapore and Malaysia markets by the end of this year.

Grab's plans include rolling out 11 self-driving shuttles developed by Chinese robotaxi company WeRide in Singapore by early 2026. It has also partnered U.S.-based May Mobility to launch autonomous vehicle services in Southeast Asia.

Singapore's Policy Moves Likely to Drive Some Earnings Upgrades — Market Talk

          Dow Jones Newswires
          Grab Holdings
          -2.49%
          Grab Holdings Limited Warrant
          0.00%

Changes in various Singapore government policies are likely to drive earnings upgrades in certain sectors, including consumer and transport, says Maybank Securities' Thilan Wickramasinghe in a note. The consumer sector could see tailwinds from strong local fiscal support and a construction boom, he notes. The city-state is looking into transport policies related to autonomous vehicles and AI, which could improve efficiencies for transport companies and boost their margins, the analyst says. Measures led by Singapore's central bank to improve the stock market's trading liquidity and valuations have helped to improve inflows into small and mid caps, Wickramasinghe adds. Some Singapore-based companies likely to benefit include Sheng Siong Group, Singapore Exchange and Nasdaq-listed Grab. (megan.cheah@wsj.com)

Lyft secures the second spot, showing strong momentum with a 12.2% monthly return and 45.3% one-year rally. Currently priced at $23.02, analysts project a 47.3% upside with a mean target of $24.33. Lyft’s Pro Score of 2.88 and Fair Value of $27.21 indicate room for growth. Like Uber, Lyft enjoys "Strong Buy" technical ratings across timeframes. While smaller than Uber, Lyft’s strategic autonomous vehicle partnerships and European expansion plans support its growth trajectory.

          3. Grab Holdings Limited (NASDAQ:GRAB)

Southeast Asia’s super-app Grab holds third place despite mixed signals. Trading at $5.21, analysts see a 15.4% upside potential with a target of $6.83. Grab’s Pro Score stands at 2.47, with a Fair Value assessment of $4.47. Unlike the leaders, Grab’s technicals show "Strong Sell" signals on both hourly and daily charts. However, its 20.1% projected revenue growth and nine consecutive quarters of positive EBITDA demonstrate operational strength. The company’s super-app ecosystem and potential merger discussions with Gojek offer long-term value.

          4. Didi Global Inc. (OTC:DIDI.Y)

Didi ranks fourth, presenting a mixed investment case. Priced at $5.29, analysts project a substantial 40.5% upside with a target of $55.44. The company has a Pro Score of 2.78 and a Fair Value of $6.21, suggesting 17.4% upside potential. Technical indicators show "Strong Sell" signals, and its one-year return of 9.6% lags sector leaders. Despite these concerns, Didi’s projected 126.2% EPS growth offers speculative appeal for risk-tolerant investors.

          5. Via Transportation

Via rounds out the top five with significant challenges. The stock recently hit an all-time low of $31.27, with bearish technical indicators across most timeframes. Via’s financial health score of 1.57 is weak, with negative metrics including a -22.1% EBITDA margin and -70.5x forward P/E ratio. The stock has declined 33.1% over the past year. Despite analyst optimism with a "Strong Buy" consensus and $56.40 mean target, fundamental data suggests caution is warranted.
