Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Media, Telecoms and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.81%, while the MDAX index added 0.28%, and the TecDAX index added 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 3.70% or 3.18 points to trade at 89.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) added 3.52% or 6.75 points to end at 198.65 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) was up 2.35% or 0.73 points to 31.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 3.93% or 7.70 points to trade at 188.30 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) declined 2.72% or 10.30 points to end at 368.70 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) was down 2.52% or 2.10 points to 81.34.
The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which rose 4.00% to 84.45, RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) which was up 2.91% to settle at 35.35 and Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which gained 2.14% to close at 110.00.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 7.64% to 9.00 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.58% to settle at 88.85 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 3.50% to 41.92 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 6.33% to 17.14, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was up 2.35% to settle at 31.84 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 1.69% to close at 114.20.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 7.64% to 9.00 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 3.93% to settle at 188.30 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.58% to 88.85 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 353 to 247 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.50% or 1.52 to 41.92.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.34% to 16.87.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.65% or 23.75 to $3,611.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.70% or 0.45 to hit $63.52 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.55 to trade at $67.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 98.36.
