Frankfurt's DAX closed about 0.2% up at 24,260 on Monday, recovering from Friday’s decline, in line with its European peers.

Investors prepared for a pivotal week marked by key economic releases and central bank policy announcements, with the ECB in focus.

Markets expect the central bank to keep borrowing costs unchanged, while possibly revising GDP growth projections upward, following recent comments from ECB President Lagarde.

Meanwhile, attention remains on geopolitics amid US-Ukraine negotiations, especially after President Zelenskiy indicated willingness to set aside Ukraine’s NATO membership ambitions.

Zalando and Puma topped the movers, rising 2.6% and 4.2%, tracking an upward movement in European luxury stocks amid optimism over China's economic measures.

Fresenius SE & Co also advanced firmly, up 2%, after Morgan Stanley analyst Aisyah Noor singled out the healthcare group as a sector favorite in her 2026 outlook.

The FTSE MIB Index went up by 603 points or 1.39 percent on Monday to close at 44117 points.

The rise was led by Banca Mediolanum (2.71%), Banco BPM SPA (2.69%) and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (2.60%).

The DAX Index rose 43 points or 0.18 percent on Monday to close at 24230 points.

Leading the gains are Commerzbank (2.29%), Zalando (2.21%) and Fresenius (1.96%).

Top losers were Rheinmetall (-2.90%), Daimler Truck Holding AG (-2.47%) and Brenntag (-2.00%).

The CAC 40 Index gained 69 points or 0.85 percent on Monday to close at 8137 points.

Gains were led by Schneider Electric (3.13%), Publicis (2.54%) and Kering (2.31%).

Biggest losers were Sanofi (-3.29%), Edenred (-1.18%) and TP (-1.14%).

The FTSE 100 Index went up by 119 points or 1.23 percent on Monday to close at 9768 points.

The rise was led by Frasers Group (8.06%), Antofagasta (3.96%) and Airtel Africa (3.71%).
