Investing.com -- Leading investment firm BTIG released its top financial stock picks for the first half of 2026, highlighting companies positioned for growth despite market uncertainties.

          {{pro_promotion | Get more stock picks by Wall Street analysts. Upgrade to InvestingPro}}

BTIG analysts have identified several standout performers across large-cap and mid-cap financial sectors, with particular emphasis on companies executing strategic acquisitions and leveraging technology to drive growth.

Here’s a closer look at BTIG’s top financial stock recommendations:

          1. Capital One Financial Corp. (COF)

BTIG’s large-cap top pick for 1H26 with a price target of $308, representing significant upside from its current $242.36 trading price. Analyst Vincent Caintic believes Capital One is poised to benefit from its Discover acquisition, with rapid revenue synergies expected from shifting debit volume to the Discover Network.

The firm is steadily gaining market share in the premium card space while maintaining advantages in auto lending. BTIG expects Capital One to become more aggressive with share repurchases as the Discover integration progresses.

Capital One Financial reported mixed fourth-quarter 2025 results, with revenue slightly beating forecasts while earnings per share fell short of expectations. Following its acquisition of Brex, several firms, including Evercore ISI and Wolfe Research, lowered their price targets on the company.

          2. Enova International, Inc. (ENVA)

Selected as BTIG’s SMID-cap top pick for 1H26 with a $199 price target against its current $157.20 share price. Analyst Vincent Caintic views Enova’s acquisition of Grasshopper Bancorp as transformational, positioning the company to become a leading neobank and fintech.

Despite market skepticism around deal synergies, BTIG expects shares to move higher once the acquisition completes in mid-2026 and as synergies materialize through 2027.

Enova International announced stronger-than-expected earnings for the fourth quarter of 2025, with both its earnings per share and revenue surpassing analyst forecasts.

          3. Rocket Companies, Inc. (RKT)

BTIG’s favorite large-cap originator/servicer with a $25 price target compared to its current $19.36 share price. Analyst Eric Hagen cites Rocket’s dominant borrower connectivity, industry-leading origination/servicing alignment, and tech-forward platform as key advantages.

The Mr. Cooper acquisition creates meaningful scale synergies, making Rocket the largest servicer nationally while deepening franchise value.

JPMorgan recently reinstated coverage on Rocket Companies with a Neutral rating, citing the company’s recent acquisitions and expanded strategy as key factors in its analysis.

          4. Rithm Capital Corp. (RITM)

BTIG’s SMID-cap top pick with a $16 price target versus its current $10.90 share price. Analyst Eric Hagen highlights Rithm’s diversified earnings drivers, strategic push into asset management, and multiple catalysts that could drive valuation higher.

Recent acquisitions (Paramount Group, Sculptor, Crestline) lay groundwork for significant fee generation and AUM growth, while its 9.2% dividend yield provides income support.

Rithm Capital has expanded its partnership with mortgage technology firm Valon and announced a strategic investment by its subsidiary Newrez into an AI-powered underwriting platform. Additionally, UBS resumed coverage on the company with a Buy rating following its acquisition of Paramount Group.

          5. Block, Inc. (XYZ)

BTIG’s large-cap top pick with a $90 price target against its current $65.09 share price. Analyst Andrew Harte sees Block as compelling based on its profitable mid-teens growth driven by Cash App and Square’s deeper penetrations with existing customers.

Management’s 2026 gross profit growth targets were ahead of consensus, and Harte has conviction in Block’s ability to achieve its mid-teens growth targets driven by product innovation and banking product adoption.

In recent developments, Cantor Fitzgerald initiated coverage on Block Inc. with an Overweight rating, while the company announced its Chief Accounting Officer will step down in February 2026.

          6. Shift4 Payments, Inc. (FOUR)

Selected as BTIG’s SMID-cap top pick with a $105 price target compared to its current $62.97 share price. Analyst Andrew Harte views Shift4’s current approximately 11% FY26E FCF yield as a compelling entry point given expectations for 15%+ organic growth over the next few years.

Growth is expected from annualization of FY25 wins, net-new customers, cross-sell opportunities, and the Global Blue integration.

Shift4 Payments has launched a stablecoin settlement platform for merchants and received a downgrade to Hold from Buy by Deutsche Bank, which cited concerns about organic growth.

Advanced Micro Devices' Computing Demand Expected to Boost 4Q Sales — Earnings Preview

          Dow Jones Newswires
          Advanced Micro Devices
          -17.28%

          By Katherine Hamilton

Advanced Micro Devices is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter financial results after the market closes on Tuesday. Here is what you need to know.

REVENUE: The chip maker is expected to report $9.67 billion in sales, compared with $7.66 billion in the previous fourth quarter, according to FactSet.

NET INCOME: The Santa Clara, Calif., company is expected to post a profit of $2.17 billion, compared with $482 million the year before, according to FactSet.

EARNINGS PER SHARE: Earnings are expected to come in at 84 cents a share, compared with 29 cents a share the prior year.

The stock has fallen 4.2% during the past three months and recently traded around $248.74.

          WHAT TO WATCH

          • Strong computing demand for servers and PCs is expected to allow AMD to beat estimates, Wedbush analysts Matt Bryson and Antoine Legault said in a note. AMD's valuation has hinged on assumptions about its AI opportunities, but strength in traditional CPUs will create some leeway for AMD to make progress on its AI plans.
          • AMD is competing against Nvidia, which is bigger and has a much larger share of the chip market. But analysts think there is strong demand for a chip alternative to Nvidia. It will just be a matter of how well its chips can compare to Nvidia's in terms of scale, performance and yield, D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria said.
          • AMD's MI350 chip is expected to keep ramping up throughout the first half, with MI450 set to launch in the second half of the year, Susquehanna analysts say. OpenAI has agreed to deploy 6 gigawatts of GPUs through 2030 with the initial 1 gigawatt deployment starting with the MI450 series in the second half.
          • Investors have been keeping a close eye on how much AI-related companies are spending to keep up in the AI race. After the company reported last quarter shares declined, as investors are worried about an AI bubble.

Walmart+ Membership Growth Accelerated in January — Market Talk

          Dow Jones Newswires
          Walmart
          +0.91%

Membership in Walmart+ continues to accelerate, Morgan Stanley analysts write, citing data from their Consumer Pulse survey. They found that on a three-month rolling basis, membership growth in January came in at about 12% year-over-year, compared to around 10% year-over-year in November. This is consistent with management's outlook of continued double-digit growth in Walmart+ membership fee income, they write. Growth in the Walmart+ membership base drives earnings leverage by expanding Walmart's U.S. eCommerce business, and extends delivery reach across its 3,562 Supercenters, according to the analysts. This helps with purchase frequency and customer retention, as well as capturing a larger portion of wallet share from affluent consumers and creating additional revenue opportunities via its advertising platform, the analysts say. Morgan Stanley starts Circle at Equal-weight as regulation and rates cloud upside

Investing.com -- Morgan Stanley initiated coverage of Circle at Equal-weight with a $66 price target, saying investors are unlikely to reward the stock with a higher valuation until stablecoin adoption broadens and revenues diversify beyond crypto-related use cases.

The bank said Circle is well positioned among stablecoin issuers, given its regulatory approach and reserve structure, but near-term risks outweigh the upside. These include an uncertain U.S. regulatory path, a sluggish crypto market and sensitivity to interest rates, which directly affect Circle’s interest-based revenue.

Morgan Stanley said the slowdown of the CLARITY Act in the Senate is a negative for Circle. The firm cited debates around whether stablecoin issuers should be allowed to pass through yield to holders, an issue that has drawn opposition from banks concerned about deposit outflows. Lawmakers may revisit the bill in mid-2026, leaving policy uncertainty in place.

Circle issues USDC, the second-largest stablecoin, with about $70bn outstanding as of early February. Morgan Stanley said current use cases remain concentrated in crypto trading, treasury and collateral management, and dollarization in high-inflation markets. Circle estimates that about half of USDC is tied to crypto-related activity, with a smaller share linked to decentralized finance and dollar savings.

Morgan Stanley estimates a near-term addressable market of about $3.6tn, spanning margin funding, remittances, crypto derivatives and deposits in inflation-prone economies. Longer term, the bank sees potential expansion into cross-border payments through Circle’s Payments Network, though it said adoption is likely to be gradual.

The bank said Circle’s earnings outlook is constrained by the current U.S. rate trajectory and a largely fixed cost base, limiting visibility into near-term profitability. It added that most perceived advantages of stablecoins, such as instant settlement and lower costs, are less clear once users convert back into fiat currencies.

Morgan Stanley said it would turn more constructive if adoption accelerates, non-crypto use cases scale meaningfully or crypto market momentum improves. Until then, it expects investors to remain cautious despite Circle’s longer-term network potential.
