China Satellite Communications on Feb. 22 launched the ChinaSat 10R satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center using a Long March 3B enhanced rocket.

The satellite has entered its designated orbit and will undergo in-orbit testing before being officially handed over for operations, according to a Monday filing with the Shanghai bourse.

ChinaSat 10R replaces the ChinaSat 10 satellite while significantly enhancing capacity, the company said.

Shares of the aerospace company rose 2% in recent trade.
