Descartes Systems Group Shares Rise After Increased 3Q Earnings, Revenue

Descartes Systems Group shares were higher after the company reported third-quarter earnings and revenue that rose compared with last year.

The stock climbed 13%, to $93.85 a share.

The packaged software company reported quarterly earnings of $43.9 million, or 50 cents a share, compared with $36.6 million, or 42 cents a share, in the same quarter last year. Analysts polled by FactSet were looking for earnings of $40.5 million, or 46 cents a share.

Revenue for the quarter was $187.7 million, compared with last year's $168.8 million and the $184.4 million analysts were looking for.

Services revenue was $173.7 million, up 16% from $149.7 million last year. Service revenue makes up 93% of Descartes's total revenue.

The company said its customers faced continued tariff volatility during the quarter, and heightened levels of changes to sanctioned and restricted trading parties. This uncertainty has contributed to forecasting, planning and execution challenges for its shippers, carriers and logistics services providers.

Descartes had $278.8 million in cash at Oct. 31, $38.2 million higher than last quarter.
