Strategy – the company founded by Michael Saylor – has kept its tradition of announcing a major crypto purchase on Mondays. Minutes ago, it revealed that it had acquired 4,980 BTC for over $531 million at an average price of roughly $106,801 per coin.

It has achieved a BTC yield of 19.7% year-to-date in 2025, and as of now, it holds 597,325 BTC, bought for around $42.4 billion. The collective value of the holdings exceeds $64 billion (at current rates), meaning the company is sitting on a paper profit of nearly $22 billion.

The firm’s latest crypto acquisition is far bigger than the one disclosed last Monday. Back then, itpurchaseda “mere” 245 BTC for around $26 million.

However, on some occasions, Strategy stunned the community by making multi-billion acquisitions. Such was the case in mid-June when itannouncedthe purchase of 10,100 BTC for more than $1.05 billion.

Strategy made its first-ever Bitcoin buy in August 2020, scooping up over 21,000 coins for around $250 million. Strategy boosts its stash to almost 600,000 BTC

Strategy has once again proved its leadership among corporate Bitcoin holders as it has added to its treasury a whopping 4,980 BTC valued at approximately $531.9 million. The average price at which this Bitcoin was acquired is around $106,801 per BTC.

Meanwhile, the tweet also stated that the company has achieved a Bitcoin yield of 19.7% year-to-date in 2025. Now, Strategy has boosted its total holdings to 597,325 BTC. Earlier this month, the company purchased Bitcoin worth a staggering $1 billion — 10,100 BTC.

Strategy keeps raising additional funds by issuing debt in the form of convertible senior notes with various BTC yield — STRK, STRF, and STRD. In a recent public talk at the BTC Prague event, Saylor announced that Strategy is going to issue billions of securities to buy Bitcoin worth billions of dollars. He also called BTC a “monetary virus” and an “ideology” that will transform the monetary system and financial markets, since Bitcoin-backed financial tools will potentially generate trillions of dollars in profits for BTC-holding companies.

Metaplanet acquires 1,005 BTC

Another quickly growing Bitcoin treasury company, Metaplanet, also announced today an impressive BTC buy. However, it was about five times less than what Strategy acquired — 1,005 BTC for $108.1 million.

Now, the company’s holdings have increased to a total of 13,350 BTC valued at $1.4 billion. Metaplanet has now risen in the rankings to become the fifth largest Bitcoin treasury company, with Strategy remaining the number one corporate Bitcoin holder. By 2027, Metaplanet plans to own 210,000 Bitcoins.

Strategy shifts $800 million in Bitcoin

As reported by U.Today earlier, Strategy was spotted to have moved a giant 7,383 Bitcoin worth almost $800 million to three different wallets. Analytics X account Lookonchain believes that this was not a sale but a transaction to better-secured wallets.

It also reminded the community that Strategy has sold BTC only once — 704 Bitcoins in December 2022 to almost immediately buy back 810 BTC two days later.
