Data Interpretation: This is a measure of core inflation calculated by the Cleveland Fed from data released in the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)' monthly CPI report.
The median CPI, which is classified as a truncated mean measure, essentially removes 49.5% of the weight from each end of the weighted monthly price change distribution to obtain the median or intermediate component of the price change.
