Data Interpretation: Reverse repo rate is opposite with repo rate. This rate is the reverse borrowing rate at which the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) borrows money from commercial banks. The RBI uses this tool when the banking system accumulates too much capital. When reverse repo rates rise, banks are more inclined to lend money to the RBI (being considered as a more reliable borrower) than to individuals or businesses.
