Data Interpretation: Outstanding orders are the amount of new orders received in a past certain period minus the amount of orders that have been completed successively, which is a cumulative amount. When the economic situation deteriorates, the number of new orders will gradually decrease, and the accumulated undelivered orders will also decrease. In the opposite condition, the new orders will gradually increase, and the accumulated undelivered orders will therewith increase. Therefore, in the process of economic cycle changes, the amount of newly received orders and the amount of uncompleted delivery orders are basically the same. Therefore, the changes in unfulfilled orders also have predictive significance for the cyclical changes in the economy.
