On Monday, UK Prime Minister Starmer rejected calls for his resignation, easing market concerns about a sudden leadership change to some extent. As a result, UK government bond yields edged lower. Technical Analysis
On Tuesday, the EURGBP rose for the second consecutive trading day. Broad weakness in the pound provided support for the exchange rate, with EURGBP trading near 0.8700 during European hours. In the near term, the pair remains constrained by the key resistance zone at 0.8720–0.8745, maintaining a neutral outlook for the day.
On the upside: A decisive break above the 0.8745 resistance level would signal that the pullback from 0.8863 has completed in the 0.8611 zone. This could pave the way for an extended rebound, potentially retesting the 0.8863 high.
On the downside: Should the exchange rate persistently break below the 38.2% retracement level of 0.8618 within the 0.8221–0.8863 range, it would signal a more pronounced bearish outlook, potentially shifting market sentiment toward a bearish bias.
