The US Non-Farm Payrolls in January were 517,000 after quarterly adjustment, which is higher than the expected value of 18.5 and the previous value of 22.3. And the US unemployment rate in January was 3.4%, lower than the expected value of 3.6 and the previous value of 3.5. Besides, the final value of the US Markit services PMI in January was 46.8, higher than the expected value and the previous value of 46.6. What’s more, the US ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI in January was 55.2, higher than the expected value of 50.3 and the previous value of 49.6. All data is skewed in favor of the Dollar and bearish for Gold, Cryptocurrencies, Forex, and Crude Oil.
Technical Analysis
Trading at the daily chart, the price rebounded strongly higher and then fell under pressure during the New Year, with highs near the 1720 area, while lows supported around the 1500 area. Meanwhile, the candlestick pattern continues to fall, and the death cross of the MACD sends a bearish signal downward. Overall, a weak downward trend is apparent.
In the 4-hour timeframe, the price of the European market fell under pressure and broke the low yesterday. Meanwhile, the US market fell for the second time after the correction. In the early hours of the morning, the price rebounded to a high of around 1645 after a correction, but then extended its decline this morning. Currently, the candlestick pattern is negative, with the price running below the moving averages. In addition, the MACD has formed a bearish death cross, with low support around 1600. If ETH could reverse short at 1635 today, the Stop Loss will be around 1655, and the Take Profit is supposed to be around 1600.
