Key downside support sits at the 0.786 Fibonacci level (~0.56000) and the extreme swing low at 0.55691; a failure to stabilize here would open the door for a deeper retracement toward fully erasing previous gains. Key upside resistance has flipped to the broken 0.618–0.500 Fibonacci confluence retest zone (0.56231–0.56340). While a massive bearish candle has driven prices directly into lower support, whether NZD/USD can base near the pivotal 0.786 level to launch an oversold bounce requires further observation.

Regarding technical indicators, within the Ichimoku system, the Tenkan-sen (red line, 0.564585) crossed below the Kijun-sen (blue line, 0.564485) to form a dead cross, with spot price (0.56075) plummeting far below the cloud structure to signal aggressive short-term bearish sentiment.

In the ADX indicator, the ADX line (green line, 29.06) is curling upward, while -DI (blue line, 33.03) has surged well above +DI (red line, 10.95), confirming an explosive surge in downside trend momentum. However, given that price experienced an overextended sell-off within a single candlestick and is sitting immediately above the 0.786 Fibonacci support region (~0.56000), there is strong technical demand for an oversold corrective bounce.
