Data Interpretation: The Canadian National Economic Confidence Index is derived from the survey results of the Canadian Economic Consultative Council on the optimism of the current economic situation for household consumers. It is an important indicator of short-term sales forecasts for companies in the consumer goods field.
In the survey, the interviewed household consumers will be asked about their views on the current and future economic and financial conditions and short-term employment prospects. At the same time, the interviewees will also be asked to assess whether the current economic environment is suitable for buying houses, cars or other high-priced goods.
