ICM.com Review: Direct and Zero Accounts, Fees and Withdrawals

ICM.com at a glance

ICM.com offers forex and other CFDs through the ICM group, with Direct and Zero accounts, MetaTrader platforms and several funding routes. Its account choice centres on how trading costs are charged: Direct has no separate trading commission, while Zero adds a commission for forex and metals. The relevant comparison is the spread plus commission for the intended instrument, followed by holding and payment costs.

Eligibility comes first. The Mauritius website excludes residents of the United States, China, North Korea, the EU and sanctioned countries. The main ICM.com footer mentions sanctioned countries more generally; that shorter statement should not be taken as removing the Mauritius exclusions. A translated website does not establish residence eligibility. The ICM.com broker profile on BrokersView provides a starting point for comparing the brand's company information and customer feedback.

Potential strength Relevant limitation
Two commission structures Compare total cost for the actual symbol
MT4/MT5 and EA support Asian product range is narrower
Several advertised payment routes Availability and charges vary by route
Published forex spread figures Averaging period and sample are not disclosed

Company and regulation

The main site's registration links lead to clients.icmcapital.mu. Its linked client agreement identifies ICM Capital Limited in Mauritius and discloses FSC licence C118023357. That is the legal entity presented for this registration route; another group company's licence does not automatically govern the account.

ICM Limited's ADGM permission, number 210045, has a different scope. The regulator's register prohibits dealing with retail clients and holding or controlling client assets, and limits principal dealing to matched-principal activity. It should not be presented as the licence protecting an ordinary retail account opened through the Mauritius route.

The group also identifies a Dubai Category 5 permission, number 20200000260, for ICM Mena Securities and Financial Products Promotion L.L.C, and ARIF membership for ICM House AG in Switzerland. A promotion permission, an association membership and an investment-dealer licence are different arrangements. None establishes that the same retail account has several layers of interchangeable regulatory protection.

Malaysia's Securities Commission investor alert list includes ICM Malaysia / ICM Capital and www.icm.com in a 2020 entry concerning dealing in derivatives. Offshore permissions do not establish local authorisation for Malaysian residents.

Direct and Zero accounts

The Mauritius comparison gives both accounts the same base-currency choices, minimum trade and headline leverage. Their main published difference is commission. Zero's $7 charge is per round-turn lot for forex and metals: opening and closing together, not $7 on each side. The comparison says other products do not incur that commission.

Published feature ICM Direct ICM Zero
Base currencies USD, EUR, GBP, SGD USD, EUR, GBP, SGD
Forex/metals commission $0 $7 per lot, round turn
Minimum trade 0.01 lot 0.01 lot
Headline leverage Up to 1:200 Up to 1:200
Platforms MT4 / MT5 MT4 / MT5

The public FAQ gives no uniform minimum deposit, saying it depends on account type. Neither a $200 requirement nor a zero minimum can therefore be treated as confirmed for these CFD accounts. Account currency also matters: funding in a different currency can introduce a conversion cost even when no separate deposit fee applies.

Trading costs: a reproducible EUR/USD comparison

The official forex specifications label their spread column AVG Spread. They show EURUSDm at 0.00011 with zero commission and EURUSDr at 0.00001 with a commission figure of 7; both have a 100,000-unit contract size. Those price differences equal 1.1 and 0.1 pips respectively. They are published figures, not spreads measured by BrokersView, and the page does not disclose the averaging period or sample.

The illustration below retains those symbol suffixes. Assume a USD-denominated account, one standard lot representing EUR100,000, an unchanged market price between entry and exit, and no slippage or overnight charge. One pip is $10. Applying the published $7-per-lot round-turn commission to the commission-bearing example gives:

Published symbol Spread used Spread cost: 1 lot Round-turn commission used Illustrative total
EURUSDm 0.00011 / 1.1 pips $11 $0 $11
EURUSDr 0.00001 / 0.1 pip $1 $7 $8

The calculation counts the bid–ask spread once for a completed round trip. At 0.1 lot, the corresponding totals would be $1.10 and $0.80 if commission scales proportionally. The commission-bearing structure is cheaper only when its spread saving exceeds 0.7 pip per standard lot. Frequency alone does not determine the better account: actual spreads, instrument choice and holding costs can change the result. The example is not a guarantee of executable pricing.

Overnight charges and swap-free availability

For positions carried overnight, the instrument's long and short swap settings matter alongside entry costs. The website publishes swap figures, but their monetary treatment needs the account's contract specifications; an unlabelled number should not be assumed to mean dollars per day.

Swap-free availability is inconsistent across the public information. The Mauritius account table says it is available, and the linked agreement makes approval conditional, with administrative fees potentially accruing daily after 14 calendar days for forex or five for metals. Yet the current metals-page FAQ says swap-free accounts are not offered. A trader requiring this feature needs confirmation of current eligibility, covered symbols and the administrative-fee amount before relying on it.

The Mauritius agreement permits recovery of negative balances after stop-out. It therefore provides no basis for a negative-balance-protection promise, a material consideration when sizing leveraged positions.

Platforms and markets

MT4 and MT5 are the platforms listed in the current account comparison. Both support Expert Advisors; MT5 additionally presents market depth, an economic calendar and multiple order types. This makes the offering relevant to traders already using MetaTrader indicators or automation. Availability of an EA does not establish its profitability or the broker's execution quality.

The wider site markets forex, metals, energy and index futures, stock CFDs and cryptocurrency CFDs. The account comparison, however, limits its Asian offering to forex, energy futures and precious metals. Someone wanting stock or crypto exposure should establish which symbols the actual account permits before funding. CFDs provide price exposure rather than ownership of shares or transferable cryptocurrency.

For automation users, ICM advertises free VPS hosting for Premium accounts with a $4,000 balance, or its equivalent in EUR, GBP or SGD. This is a separate service condition, not the ordinary account-opening minimum. A VPS can run an EA when the trader's own computer is offline, making it a practical consideration for continuous strategies.

The stock page still mentions cTrader, while the principal navigation and account table list MT4/MT5. Its current availability is unclear. Contract restrictions on abusive trading should not be expanded into a ban on every ordinary EA or hedge.

Deposit methods and payment costs

ICM's public information names bank transfers, Visa and Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller and Ecommpay. A current campaign also advertises USDT deposits. This is a list of advertised routes, not proof that every method is enabled for every residence, currency or account. Available choices, transaction limits and charges are displayed through ICM Access.

Advertised route Published condition or unresolved detail
Bank transfer Bank charges may reduce the credited amount
Visa / Mastercard FAQ says credit-card deposit costs are borne by ICM; card refunds cannot exceed card deposits
Skrill / Neteller / Ecommpay Listed publicly; account-specific availability, limits and fees need confirmation
USDT Advertised in a campaign; network, limits and withdrawal conditions need confirmation
ICM Mastercard programme Separate application, approval and activation fee

The payment FAQ says ICM bears credit-card deposit costs, but the agreement permits passing on provider charges. A transaction-specific fee quotation is therefore more useful than assuming either universal free funding or an automatic surcharge.

The separate ICM Mastercard programme requires approval and an activation fee. Its card-page statement that no minimum deposit applies concerns that programme; it does not establish the minimum funding requirement for a Direct or Zero trading account. A convenient card product is useful only if its issuance, conversion and withdrawal costs suit the intended use.

Withdrawals: processing, arrival and fees

ICM says withdrawal requests are processed on the trading account within 24 working hours of receipt. Actual arrival depends on the payment method, so this is neither a 24-calendar-hour promise nor a guarantee of next-day bank receipt. Deposits are normally credited within one business day after ICM receives the funds.

Card withdrawals cannot exceed original card deposits; profits use another same-name method. Funds generally return to their original source. With multiple funding sources, a new wallet is not automatically an unrestricted destination.

The agreement's fee concession refers to one monthly withdrawal after five lots or with a remaining balance, but also says untraded accounts and second withdrawals incur charges. This ambiguity prevents a blanket free-withdrawal claim; the payment-specific fee matters for frequent or small withdrawals.

Account verification and support

Opening a trading account is free. ICM requests a valid passport, national identity card or driving licence and may require address evidence issued within three months. Third-party deposits are rejected and returned. These ownership checks are relevant to choosing a funding source from the outset.

Support is available through support@icm.com, telephone and WhatsApp contacts shown on the payment page. Trade disputes require prompt details, including dates and times; unresolved matters go to Client Services. These contact routes do not establish measured response times or guarantee reimbursement.

User feedback and a withdrawal complaint

The ICM.com user reviews on BrokersView show differing experiences. On 29 July 2025, James Rayman praised customer service and the platform. On 31 October 2025, Todd described repeated verification requests and a withdrawal still pending at the time. These are dated customer statements, not an audited service comparison; Todd's comment does not establish that payment remains outstanding today.

A separate withdrawal complaint submitted on 27 January 2024 alleged inability to withdraw and unanswered emails. On 30 January, BrokersView asked the complainant for more information. Its Replied status records that response, not proof of repayment, compensation or resolution. The public case does not show a verified final outcome.

Verdict: who may find the offering useful?

ICM.com may suit an eligible MetaTrader user who wants a choice between spread-only and commission-based pricing and can confirm the intended instruments and funding route. The published EUR/USD figures make that cost comparison more concrete, although actual account quotations remain decisive. Someone concentrating on forex and metals may find the Asian product range sufficient; a trader requiring stocks or cryptocurrency might not.

The fit is weaker for a resident excluded by the Mauritius terms, someone requiring a retail ADGM account, or a trader needing confirmed permanent swap-free conditions or contractual negative-balance protection. For other applicants, the decision turns on the complete account offer: entity, symbols, total trading costs and the usable withdrawal method.

Frequently asked questions

Which company would hold my account? The main registration route leads to the Mauritius portal, with an agreement identifying ICM Capital Limited under FSC licence C118023357. Confirm the company named in the agreement offered to you.

Is Zero always cheaper than Direct? No. Its forex and metals commission is $7 per round-turn lot. On standard-lot EUR/USD, a 0.7-pip spread saving exactly offsets that commission; a larger saving makes the total lower, before other costs.

What is the minimum deposit? The current account FAQ gives no single amount and says the requirement depends on account type. Confirm the threshold for the selected account and payment route rather than relying on a general $200 figure.

Does ICM offer swap-free accounts? Public statements conflict: the account page and agreement allow conditional treatment, while the metals FAQ says it is unavailable. Current approval and any administrative fees need confirmation.

How long do withdrawals take? The published target is processing within 24 working hours. Bank or payment-provider clearance follows separately, and source-of-funds, verification and applicable fee conditions still matter.
