The World Silver Association’s latest forecast confirms that the global silver market will experience an annual supply-demand deficit for the sixth consecutive year in 2026. Although total global silver mine production is expected to increase slightly by 1% to 820 million ounces in 2026, it will still be insufficient to meet the ever-growing demand from downstream sectors. Due to the Indian government’s recent implementation of a strict new licensing system and tariff adjustments, domestic silver premiums in India remain high. A large number of international metal traders and banks are currently working to navigate administrative red tape and actively applying for licenses in an attempt to capture substantial profits by supplementing shipments to India.
As Federal Reserve Chair Wash reduces forward guidance on the future path of interest rates, economic data has had a significantly greater impact on market interest rate expectations. Currently, recent data on consumption and inflation have reduced the likelihood of a rate hike in September, and market expectations have clearly shifted toward the Fed maintaining a wait-and-see stance.
Technical Analysis
On the four-hour chart for silver, the Bollinger Bands are narrowing, moving averages have flattened, and prices are fluctuating near the upper Bollinger Band. The MACD is on the verge of a golden cross, indicating a high probability of a continued uptrend. The RSI stands at 59, indicating that market participants are predominantly buying. On the daily chart, the Bollinger Bands are beginning to widen upward, and the moving averages are diverging upward, suggesting a high probability of a move toward the 200-day moving average (MA200) at 71. With the RSI at 62, the market has entered an optimistic zone. The strategy is to go long on dips.
