          Overall

GBP/USD has recovered from the recent decline toward 1.3480 and returned to approximately 1.3530. The important point is that the recovery has not yet produced a decisive structural breakout. Current technical analysis identifies 1.3528 and 1.3552 as immediate resistance, while 1.3451 and 1.3427 remain the major downside levels.
The fundamental picture is unusually sensitive today because the U.S. August NFP report is due. The latest ADP report showed only 38,000 private-sector jobs, below the 48,000 consensus, reinforcing concerns that U.S. hiring momentum is cooling. That has reduced confidence in aggressive Fed tightening and weakened the dollar recently.
Sterling, meanwhile, has received support from a more hawkish Bank of England. Chief Economist Huw Pill argued that higher rates could prevent inflationary pressures from becoming more persistent, with markets now pricing two BoE hikes by March. This means the fundamental background is not strongly bearish GBP/USD, making the SELL dependent primarily on technical rejection at 1.3528.

          Market Sentiment

Sentiment is mixed rather than decisively bearish. GBP/USD's rebound has restored some buying interest, and the pair remains above the 100-day SMA around 1.3445. RSI is close to neutral at roughly 52, suggesting there is still room for either direction rather than an obvious overbought condition.
The stronger argument for selling 1.3528 is the market's repeated difficulty around this region. Previous technical analysis places 1.3528–1.3552 as the immediate resistance band, while the broader resistance structure around 1.3540–1.3560 remains important.
A weak NFP would be the major threat to the SELL. If U.S. employment disappoints materially, dollar selling could push GBP/USD directly through 1.3550 and potentially toward 1.3600. Conversely, a stronger payrolls figure could rapidly strengthen USD and turn 1.3528 into a high-probability rejection point.

          Technical Analysis

GBP/USD at 1.3528: Can Sellers Reject Resistance Before the U.S. Jobs Report?_1
Using Bollinger Bands (20,0,2), Ichimoku (9,26,52), and Stochastic (5/3/3), the preferred setup is a tactical SELL at 1.3528.
Bollinger Bands are tightening after the recovery, with price approaching the upper portion of the short-term range. A failure around 1.3528–1.3550 followed by an M15 close back below the middle band would signal that buyers are losing momentum. The first bearish confirmation would be a break beneath 1.3510, opening room toward 1.3480.
Ichimoku remains the key trend filter. The broader structure is not yet decisively bearish, so the short requires price to lose Tenkan-sen and subsequently Kijun-sen. If the pair remains above the M15 cloud while breaking 1.3550, the countertrend SELL should be abandoned.
Stochastic (5/3/3) should ideally produce a bearish crossover near the overbought region while price tests 1.3528. This would provide much stronger confirmation than simply selling the quoted level. If Stochastic remains bullish and GBP/USD establishes M15 closes above 1.3550, momentum would favor continuation toward 1.3600.
The key resistance is 1.3528–1.3552, while support sits at 1.3480, followed by 1.3450–1.3427. The trade therefore offers reasonable downside potential, but today's NFP can cause immediate slippage and invalidate technical levels within minutes.

          Trade Recommendation

          Entry: 1.3528
          Take Profit: 1.3480
          Stop Loss: 1.3555
