Vietnam Charges Seven in TATAO LIVE Probe Into Alleged AI Livestream Investment Fraud

10 jam yang lalu By Bob

Vietnamese authorities have charged seven suspects in the TATAO LIVE investment case, identifying VND404 billion in victim payments and recovering more than VND8.6 billion, according to an October 25 government report citing the Ministry of Public Security. The case concerns alleged technology-enabled asset appropriation and money laundering.

AI Livestream Packages Promised Daily Income

Investigators said TATAO LIVE attracted participants by claiming that virtual presenters could generate income through automated livestream sales. Users paid for packages and received app credits labelled as livestream revenue or AI commissions.

Early payments encouraged further investment and referrals. The platform also offered a seven-tier recruitment structure with commissions ranging from 5% to 17%.

Investigators Trace Payments to New Participants

Police said they found no evidence of genuine e-commerce revenue supporting the payouts. Instead, money collected from later participants funded payments to earlier users.

By mid-April 2026, withdrawals stalled, Zalo groups dissolved and offices closed, according to investigators. The app and website subsequently stopped operating.

Investors should independently verify a platform’s business activities and applicable authorisation before transferring funds. Early payouts and company registration documents alone do not establish legitimacy. For investment-related questions and further guidance, visit BrokersView Q&A.
