OANDA Europe Promotes Lucian Lauerman to CEO Amid FTMO Leadership Changes

10 hours ago BrokersView

Retail trading broker OANDA has promoted Lucian Lauerman to Chief Executive Officer of its European business, following broader leadership changes linked to the company's acquisition by FTMO.

Lauerman steps into the CEO role after more than seven years at OANDA, having most recently served as Deputy Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, he also held senior positions including Head of Digital Assets, where he led the broker’s crypto and digital asset initiatives, and Head of Data Services.

Before joining OANDA, Lauerman spent seven years at Saxo Bank, holding leadership roles in API and electronic distribution businesses. Earlier in his career, he also worked at Lloyds Banking Group in digital product management roles.

The appointment comes as FTMO founders Otakar Šuffner and Marek Vašíček assume co-CEO responsibilities at OANDA following the departure of former CEO Gavin Bambury.

Separately, OANDA has continued transferring its proprietary trading business, OANDA Prop Trader, to the FTMO group. The migration process began earlier this year and will move clients onto FTMO's trading infrastructure, allowing OANDA to focus more directly on its core brokerage operations.

The changes highlight the ongoing integration between OANDA and FTMO as the firms continue aligning leadership structures and business operations following the acquisition.
