MFSA Flags mfsa.finance as a Clone of Its Official Site

Oct 14, 2026 By Jane

The MFSA clone website warning, issued on October 13, 2026, flags mfsa.finance for impersonating the Malta Financial Services Authority.

Website Copies MFSA Branding

The MFSA said the website used its name, logo and website content to deceive the public. It confirmed that mfsa.finance has no association with the Authority and is not an official channel.

The regulator’s genuine website is www.mfsa.mt. It urged the public to avoid transactions or other dealings with the false entity concerning matters within its remit.

Other Regulators Impersonated in 2026

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority added a warning about fca.org.lc to its official alerts page on June 12, 2026. The FCA identified it as a fraudulent website impersonating the regulator and warned that visiting it could expose users to malware or other security risks.

In August 2026, Australia’s ASIC warned of targeted phishing emails impersonating its staff. Reports involved personnel at market operators and financial businesses, with scammers using misleading sender names or spoofing to make emails appear legitimate.

Investor Reminder: Check Official Channels

Check website addresses carefully and verify unexpected messages through independently obtained regulator contact details. A familiar logo or sender name does not establish authenticity.

Before depositing funds, research the broker on BrokersView and verify its legal entity and authorisation directly with the relevant regulator.
