IC Markets has appointed blockchain and technology expert Jaser Mahmoud as its Chief Technology Officer, reinforcing the broker’s focus on digital asset infrastructure and emerging technologies. Mahmoud will lead IC Markets’ technology strategy and oversee the development of its core systems, ensuring scalable, reliable, and secure trading platforms.
Mahmoud brings over 20 years of experience across technology and financial services, with deep expertise in architecture, complex platforms, and blockchain applications. He joins IC Markets from R3, a crypto-focused technology firm, where he served as Chief Architect. In that role, he designed large-scale systems supporting distributed ledger infrastructure, digital assets, and tokenization for regulated financial institutions.
Prior to R3, Mahmoud was Head of Enterprise Architecture at ADSS, an Abu Dhabi-based brokerage, where he played a key role in building and optimizing the firm’s technology stack. His experience also extends to cybersecurity and payments technology, giving him a broad perspective on enterprise-level systems and cross-industry integration.
Mahmoud’s work in the UAE regulatory space involved close collaboration with central banks and other authorities, translating policy and business objectives into robust technical frameworks. His expertise ensures that IC Markets’ platforms are compliant, resilient, and capable of seamless integration with international financial systems.
The appointment follows IC Markets’ recent operational restructuring, including the relocation of its main base to Dubai, the separation of its European and Australian entities, and several senior executive hires. The broker has also recently appointed Petros Kalaitzis as General Manager of its proprietary trading division and signed a sponsorship deal with Australian tennis player Alexei Popyrin ahead of the 2026 season.
Mahmoud’s leadership is expected to accelerate IC Markets’ technological innovation and strengthen its infrastructure to support advanced trading services and digital asset initiatives globally.
