The platform is stable, commissions are low, withdrawals are fast. The support is responsive, always helpful. There are almost no downsides, except that there are not enough Russian-language training materials. Overall, it is a good broker.

IC Markets Review Overview

This comprehensive IC Markets review delivers an objective evaluation of the platform's regulatory safety, trading infrastructure, and pricing. Our analysis will help you answer the critical question: is IC Markets a good broker for your specific trading needs?

Is IC Markets Legit and Safe?

IC Markets is a heavily regulated and legitimate broker overseen by multiple top-tier and regional financial authorities, though the level of client protection varies significantly based on the specific regional entity used.

IC Markets review

What Is IC Markets? Company Background

Founded in Sydney, Australia in 2007, IC Markets has grown to become one of the largest online Forex and CFD providers globally by trading volume. The brokerage specializes in bridging the gap between retail clients and institutional-grade liquidity, offering ultra-low latency execution via its Equinix NY4 servers based in New York. The company’s core market identity revolves around high-speed order processing and a pricing structure optimized for automated traders, scalpers, and high-frequency market participants.

IC Markets Regulation

IC Markets is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, the Capital Markets Authority of Kenya, the Securities Commission of The Bahamas, and the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles. These regulatory bodies span from top-tier, stringent jurisdictions to more flexible regional and offshore frameworks. Active licensing status can be checked directly on the database of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. To verify independently, search the financial services register using IC Markets' Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) number 335692.

Which IC Markets Entity Serves Your Region?

The specific entity that onboarding clients register under determines their legal protections, maximum leverage limits, and available dispute resolution schemes.

Entity NameRegulatorLicense NumberRegulatory TierInvestor Protection
International Capital Markets Pty LtdAustralian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)AFSL 335692Tier 1Segregated client trust accounts, negative balance protection, no compensation fund.
IC Markets (EU) LtdCyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC)362/18Tier 2Segregated accounts, Investor Compensation Fund (ICF) up to €20,000, negative balance protection.
IC Markets (KE) LimitedCapital Markets Authority of Kenya (CMA)199Tier 2 / RegionalSegregated accounts, localized regulatory oversight, negative balance protection.
IC Markets LtdSecurities Commission of The Bahamas (SCB)SIA-F214Tier 2 / OffshoreSegregated client funds, flexible trading conditions.
Raw Trading LtdFinancial Services Authority of Seychelles (FSA)SD018Tier 3 / OffshoreSegregated accounts, higher leverage caps, limited local statutory investor compensation.

While Tier-1 ASIC and CySEC entities enforce strict leverage caps of 1:30 and robust compensation frameworks, offshore entities like Raw Trading Ltd in Seychelles offer higher leverage of up to 1:1000 with fewer retail investor protections.

Onboarding procedures vary significantly based on whether a trader is routed to a highly regulated or an offshore entity. For European clients registering under CySEC, the registration process includes an appropriateness questionnaire to verify market expertise. While some traders search for "ic markets client suitability test answers" online to bypass this check, this evaluation is a legal requirement designed to ensure retail clients understand the high risk of leverage, and it should be completed honestly based on individual trading experience. Conversely, clients onboarded under offshore branches like Raw Trading Ltd experience a faster KYC process with fewer trading restrictions, though they forfeit access to local regulatory ombudsman programs.

Restricted Countries

Due to strict local regulatory frameworks and international sanctions, IC Markets does not offer its services to residents of certain countries. Specifically, some readers ask, does ic markets accept us clients? The answer is no; regulatory restrictions from the US SEC and CFTC prevent international brokers like IC Markets from onboarding US residents.

  • Restricted countries: United States, Canada, New Zealand, Iran, North Korea, and countries under active international sanctions.
  • Local regulatory limitations: The broker blocks IPs and address verifications from these regions to remain fully compliant with regional trade policies.

Client Fund Protection

Regardless of the entity you trade under, IC Markets implements several layers of security to preserve client assets:

  • Segregated bank accounts: All retail client funds are kept entirely separate from the company's operational funds in segregated accounts at tier-1 banks.
  • Negative balance protection: This feature prevents retail clients from losing more than their initial deposit during periods of extreme market volatility.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance: The broker maintains insurance policies with leading financial institutions to protect against operational liabilities.

IC Markets User Reviews and Trustpilot Rating

IC Markets holds a Trustpilot rating of 4.8 out of 5 based on approximately 55,000 reviews, reflecting highly positive overall user sentiment as of June 2026. This exceptional standing positions the broker as one of the most well-regarded platforms in the retail brokerage sector.

  • Verified customer support: Many positive reviews commend named customer service representatives for quickly resolving technical inquiries, profile verifications, and onboarding adjustments in a matter of minutes.
  • Competitive raw pricing: Active traders frequently highlight the exceptionally low spreads on EUR/USD and other major currency pairs, which helps scalpers and high-volume automated strategies remain profitable.
  • Fast execution speeds: Numerous reviews praise the stability of the MT4/MT5 platforms and the lack of trade execution delays under normal market conditions.
  • Spread widening during news: A recurring complaint among negative reviews centers on spreads widening significantly and slippage occurring during volatile economic news events or low-liquidity market rollovers.
  • Onboarding verification delays: Some users report friction and delays during the document verification process (KYC), which can take longer than expected due to strict compliance standards.
  • Occasional platform freezing: A small segment of traders mentions experiencing momentary server disconnects or platform freezes during periods of extreme, high-volume market activity.

IC Markets Account Types

IC Markets offers three primary retail account types with a standard $200 minimum deposit, providing highly competitive pricing structures tailored to both manual and algorithmic trading styles.

IC Markets Account Types and Minimum Deposit Requirements

When funding an account, the standard ic markets minimum deposit is $200 across all three retail account options, regardless of the base currency selected (which can include USD, EUR, AUD, GBP, SGD, and others). While the help center notes that there is technically no strict barrier to opening an account, a $200 balance is required to activate trading and fulfill margin requirements.

The choice of account depends on a trader's preferred platform and their preference regarding the spread-versus-commission trade-off:

  • Standard Account (MT4/MT5): This zero-commission option charges spreads from 0.6 pips, making it a simple, all-inclusive choice for casual and discretionary swing traders.
  • Raw Spread Account (MT4/MT5): This account provides institutional-grade spreads from 0.0 pips paired with a fixed $7.00 round-turn commission, serving as the optimal environment for high-frequency scalpers and algorithmic EA traders.
  • Raw Spread Account (cTrader): This option delivers raw spreads from 0.0 pips with a discounted $6.00 round-turn commission, offering the lowest trading costs specifically for users of the advanced cTrader platform.

When evaluating the ic markets raw spread vs standard account options, active traders will find the Raw Spread setup significantly more economical. For instance, trading one standard lot of EUR/USD on the Standard account with a 1.0-pip spread costs $10. On the Raw Spread account, trading that same lot with an average spread of 0.1 pips plus a $7 commission costs approximately $8, translating to a 20% savings over time.

Leverage limits are dictated entirely by the regional regulatory entity. Under ASIC (Australia) and CySEC (Europe) guidelines, retail leverage is strictly capped at 1:30 for major currency pairs. However, international clients onboarded via offshore entities like Raw Trading Ltd in Seychelles can access leverage of up to 1:1000, though this entails a higher risk of rapid capital loss.

Does IC Markets Offer an Islamic Account?

Yes, IC Markets offers Sharia-compliant, swap-free Islamic accounts to clients who cannot pay or receive interest due to their religious beliefs. These accounts are available across all three main platforms (MT4, MT5, and cTrader) under both Standard and Raw Spread pricing, replacing standard overnight swaps with a flat holding fee (ranging from $5 to $14 per lot depending on the instrument) applied only if a position remains open past a designated grace period of 1 to several days.

IC Markets Fees and Trading Costs

IC Markets offers some of the most competitive raw spreads in the retail industry, though users must account for standard per-lot commissions on its raw accounts.

IC Markets Trading Fees (Spreads / Commission Fees / Swap and Overnight Fees)

Trading fees are the primary concern for any active investor. IC Markets operates an Electronic Communication Network (ECN) style execution model, sourcing liquidity from multiple institutional feeds to provide traders with direct pricing:

  • Spreads: The average ic markets spread on EUR/USD under the Raw Spread account is a highly competitive 0.1 pips, whereas the Standard account markup results in a wider average of 0.8 to 1.1 pips.
  • MetaTrader Raw Commissions: Trading on MetaTrader 4 or 5 Raw accounts incurs a fixed commission of $3.50 per lot per side ($7.00 round turn), which represents an industry-standard fee structure for direct market access.
  • cTrader Raw Commissions: The cTrader platform offers a slightly discounted commission rate of $3.00 per side ($6.00 round turn) per standard lot, providing a minor cost reduction for active day traders.
  • Swap rates: Overnight swap rates are charged at 17:00 EST daily based on global interbank interest differentials, with triple swap fees applied on Wednesday nights to account for the weekend market closure.

IC Markets Non-Trading Fees (Inactivity Fees / Currency Conversion Fees)

Unlike many of its retail competitors, IC Markets remains highly accessible by keeping its secondary, administrative costs to a minimum:

  • Inactivity Fees: The global and Australian entities of IC Markets charge no dormancy or inactivity fees, though clients registered under the European CySEC entity are subject to a €10 monthly charge after six months of absolute trading inactivity.
  • Account maintenance fees: Creating an account, maintaining a live profile, and utilizing the secure client area are entirely free of cost.
  • Currency Conversion Rates: When trading instruments denominated in a currency other than your account base currency, IC Markets applies a standard conversion rate based on real-time market rates without hidden premium markups.

IC Markets Deposits & Withdrawals

IC Markets provides fee-free deposit and withdrawal options across a wide variety of local and digital payment methods, though international bank wire processing can take several business days to finalize.

Funding your trading account can be executed using Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, local bank transfers, Broker-to-Broker transfers, Rapidpay, Klarna, and regional internet banking methods (such as Vietnamese and Thai internet banking). Deposits are processed instantly for digital wallets and cards, whereas local bank wires can take up to three business days to clear. The broker does not charge any deposit fees.

When withdrawing funds, clients must submit requests through their Secure Client Area. The broker enforces a daily cut-off time of 12:00 AEST/AEDT. Requests submitted before this time are fully processed on the same day, while later requests are carried over to the next business day. Withdrawals to e-wallets like Neteller and Skrill are completed instantly once processed, while credit/debit card refunds take three to five business days to clear. International bank wire withdrawals are subject to bank processing times of two to fourteen business days and may incur a $20 (or equivalent currency) fee charged by intermediary banks, although IC Markets charges no internal fees on its end.

While the withdrawal system is highly rated, verified user complaints on forums like Trustpilot and Myfxbook typically center on strict Anti-Money Laundering (AML) enforcement. For example, some clients complain about withdrawal delays when trying to transfer profits to a third-party account or a card other than the one used for the initial deposit, which is a legal restriction rather than a broker policy. Additionally, card refund processing can take up to ten business days depending on the client’s local bank, which occasionally leads to false claims of delayed payments.

IC Markets Leverage, Margin & Order Execution

IC Markets utilizes a true no-dealing-desk execution model with trade servers hosted in Equinix data centers to achieve sub-40ms execution speeds. The entire infrastructure is geared toward reducing latency and eliminating broker intervention.

  • Sub-40ms execution speed: Trading servers are collocated inside the Equinix NY4 data center in New Jersey and LD5 in London to ensure ultra-low latency for order routing.
  • Direct market liquidity: Pricing is sourced from over 25 institutional tier-1 banks and dark pools, ensuring raw-spread pricing with zero price manipulation or requotes.
  • Zero freeze levels: No minimum distance is required for stop-loss or limit orders, allowing scalpers and EAs to execute trades exactly at the market rate.
  • Dynamic leverage: Retail leverage limits are strictly capped at 1:30 under ASIC and CySEC entities, whereas offshore entities allow leverage scaling up to 1:1000 for experienced clients.

IC Markets Research Tools & Educational Resources

IC Markets offers a robust suite of research and educational tools, featuring automated market scanners, premium virtual private servers, and comprehensive learning materials. Both novice and experienced automated traders are provided with resources to refine their technical workflows.

  • Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting: Active traders who clear at least 15 lots of monthly volume qualify for free, high-speed VPS sponsorships with ForexVPS or IC VPS.
  • Automated pattern recognition: Integration with Autochartist and Trading Central scans live charts to deliver real-time technical trading signals and market indicators.
  • Multilingual educational guides: Video tutorials, webinars, podcasts, and daily market analysis articles cater to beginner traders attempting to master market fundamentals.

How Good Is IC Markets Customer Support?

IC Markets provides highly responsive 24/7 customer support via email, local toll-free phone lines, and instant live chat. The support infrastructure is structured to assist global teams across different time zones.

  • True 24/7 assistance: Customer service is available around the clock, meaning traders can access live help even over the weekend when global markets are closed.
  • Multi-channel delivery: Assistance is offered through web-based live chat, email ticket systems, and dedicated regional toll-free numbers in countries like the UK, Australia, Germany, and Spain.
  • Multilingual support: Help is accessible in several languages, making it highly inclusive for non-English speakers.

Who Is IC Markets Best For?

IC Markets remains a premier choice for high-volume automated traders and scalpers, while absolute beginners may find the platform ecosystem a bit technical.

Is IC Markets Good for Scalpers and Algorithmic Traders?

Yes, IC Markets is one of the best brokers globally for scalping and algorithmic trading due to its sub-40ms execution speeds, raw pricing, and lack of restrictions on automated systems.

Algorithmic traders running Expert Advisors (EAs) or cTrader bots benefit from the broker’s direct-to-market execution with zero freeze levels, meaning limit and stop orders can be placed as close to the current market price as desired. The deep institutional liquidity pool ensures that high-speed scalpers face minimal slippage, even when trading large position sizes during highly volatile sessions. Additionally, the availability of sponsored premium VPS hosting significantly reduces network latency, which is a critical operational necessity for latency-sensitive arbitrage or high-frequency automated strategies.

Is IC Markets Good for Copy Trading?

Yes, IC Markets offers a highly robust copy trading environment by integrating with top-tier third-party networks like ZuluTrade, Myfxbook AutoTrade, and cTrader Copy.

Rather than restricting clients to a closed proprietary social network, IC Markets connects traders directly with established, global copy-trading databases. Followers can automatically mirror the trades of experienced signal providers while maintaining complete control over their own risk management settings, such as custom drawdowns and capital allocation limits. Because the broker's underlying trading costs are exceptionally tight, copy trading on Raw accounts minimizes the yield drag that transaction fees and marked-up spreads typically impose on mirrored strategy performance.

Is IC Markets Good for Beginners?

No, IC Markets is not the most beginner-friendly option on the market, as its primary focus is on professional-grade third-party software rather than a simplified, proprietary trading app.

While the broker does offer an accessible $200 entry point and high-quality educational videos, the learning curve for configuring MT4, MT5, or cTrader can be steep for absolute beginners. Unlike modern fintech brokers that emphasize simplified mobile interfaces, IC Markets requires manual platform setup, a solid understanding of margin calculations, and separate back-office portal navigation. However, for ambitious beginners who are committed to mastering advanced charting software from day one rather than trading on gamified interfaces, the platform serves as an excellent institutional-grade training ground.

Best for: High-frequency scalpers, algorithmic traders, and copy-trading enthusiasts · Less ideal for: Absolute beginners seeking a simplified, single-app retail investing experience.

Compare IC Markets with Other Popular Brokers

IC Markets faces strong competition from other industry-leading brokers like Pepperstone, XM, and Exness, though it retains a distinct technical advantage for high-volume automated traders.

IC Markets vs Pepperstone

The single biggest difference between IC Markets and Pepperstone is their structural optimization, with IC Markets catering heavily to automated MT4/MT5 traders while Pepperstone excels in platform versatility and premium broker-side integrations.

While both Australian-regulated brokers provide raw spreads from 0.0 pips, Pepperstone does not enforce a strict minimum deposit, whereas IC Markets maintains a standard $200 threshold. In terms of platform features, Pepperstone integrates with advanced tools like Capitalise.ai for code-free automation; by contrast, IC Markets focuses its resources on maintaining ultra-low latency Equinix server collocation for standard MT4/MT5 and cTrader setups. Furthermore, IC Markets offers slightly larger share CFD catalogs, but Pepperstone generally provides more consistent pricing execution on indices and cryptocurrencies during high-impact news sessions.

Takeaway: IC Markets is the better choice for high-volume MT4/MT5 automated strategies; Pepperstone suits discretionary traders seeking premium platform integrations.

IC Markets vs XM

The single biggest difference between IC Markets and XM is their target client base, with IC Markets offering professional ECN execution while XM prioritizes highly accessible, low-deposit conditions for retail beginners.

For market access, XM features a low minimum deposit of just $5 on its Micro and Standard accounts, which stands in contrast to the strict $200 deposit required by IC Markets. In terms of ongoing trading costs, IC Markets operates with significantly narrower raw spreads on major pairs; on the other hand, XM appeals to swing traders with zero-commission accounts and daily interactive live webinars. When looking at platform choices, IC Markets is more versatile, offering cTrader and TradingView integration, whereas XM restricts users strictly to MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.

Takeaway: IC Markets is the better choice for cost-sensitive active day traders; XM suits retail beginners who need extensive education and minimal initial risk.

IC Markets vs Exness

The single biggest difference between IC Markets and Exness is their approach to capital flexibility, with IC Markets emphasizing raw-spread multi-platform performance while Exness focuses on instant fund processing and extreme leverage.

Exness requires a minimum deposit of only $10 and supports automated, instant round-the-clock withdrawals; by contrast, IC Markets maintains a $200 deposit minimum and standard banking processing timelines. From a pricing perspective, IC Markets features highly competitive, reliable raw spreads on major FX pairs, whereas Exness utilizes dynamic spreads that can fluctuate wider during volatile trading windows. Additionally, IC Markets allows direct trading on cTrader and TradingView, which are platforms entirely unsupported by Exness.

Takeaway: IC Markets is the better choice for platform selection and ultra-low raw spreads; Exness suits traders who prioritize instant withdrawal processing and low capital limits.

IC Markets Broker Quick Verdict

IC Markets is a solid choice for high-volume scalpers and automated traders due to its institutional-grade execution speeds, though its $200 minimum deposit and technical platforms make it less ideal for absolute beginners. Ultimately, our IC Markets review concludes that the broker excels at providing professional-grade infrastructure and ultra-low raw spreads for serious market participants.

Totally outdated platform, slippage, withdrawal issue, unprofessional customer support in the chat. My account is fully verified, for 44$ withdrawal still haven’t received already 2 days (Crypto withdrawal in USDT) I requested call back 2 days ago, nobody called, no emails and useless people in they live chat. Probably 1 of the worst FX brokers which exists!! I recommend everyone to stay away and keep in mind: All good reviews are fake or paid!!
