17 hours ago BrokersView

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) received 333 new whistleblowing reports between April and June 2026, according to data published by the regulator. The reports contained 886 allegations of wrongdoing, with most relating to Consumer Duty.

FCA Whistleblowing Reports Rise From Q2 2025

The FCA received 333 reports in Q2 2026, compared with 315 in the same period of 2025. The figure was lower than the 355 reports received in Q1 2026, covering January to March.

Each report contains one or more allegations. The largest share of reports concerned Consumer Duty, followed by issues involving the behavior, conduct and integrity of leadership and senior managers.

For firms operating in financial markets, including FCA-regulated brokers, whistleblowing reports provide information that can support the regulator's supervisory work.

FCA Closed 395 Reports in Q2 2026

The FCA closed 395 whistleblowing reports between April and June 2026. Of these, 56 reports (14%) resulted in significant action to manage harm, which may include enforcement action, a Section 166 skilled person report, or restrictions on a firm's permissions or an individual's approval.

A further 114 reports (29%) led to action to reduce harm, such as contacting or visiting a firm, requesting information, or asking a firm to confirm compliance with FCA rules.

Another 193 reports (49%) informed the FCA's work, including harm prevention, but did not result in direct action. 14 reports (3%) were not considered indicative of harm, while 18 reports (5%) were classified as other.

The latest figures highlight the role of whistleblowing information in the FCA's regulatory and supervisory activities. For market participants, including forex and CFD firms, compliance with conduct and consumer protection requirements remains an important regulatory consideration.
