Dec 30, 2025 BrokersView

Recently, a cryptocurrency scam has emerged on Grubhub, America's second-largest food delivery platform. Reports indicate users received fraudulent messages promising tenfold returns on Bitcoin investments.

These emails claimed to be part of a "Holiday Crypto Promotion," originating from "b.grubhub.com", a legitimate domain Grubhub uses for communications with business partners and restaurants.

Starting December 24, some emails were sent to users via "merry-christmast@b.grubhub.com" and "crypto-promotion@b.grubhub.com."

The scammers promised a tenfold Bitcoin return if funds were transferred to a specified wallet within thirty minutes.

“There are 30 minutes left in our Holiday Crypto Promotion. Grubhub will 10x any Bitcoin sent to this address [...]. For example, if you send $1000, we’ll send back $10,000.”

Grubhub has not disclosed further details, but a company spokesperson stated that the issue has been isolated and measures are being implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.

“We’re aware of unauthorized messages that appear to have been sent by Grubhub to some of our merchant partners. We immediately investigated, contained the issue, and are taking steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again,” ;Grubhub said.
