Mark Chesterman has left OANDA after seven years with the company, stepping down as Chief Risk Officer. He announced his departure in a LinkedIn post, describing his tenure as a period of “almost constant change.”
Chesterman said his work covered mergers and acquisitions, an overhaul of the trading function, building a risk function and board governance. He also described cross-functional global leadership work amid the growth of AI.
He thanked colleagues across OANDA, particularly his risk team. Chesterman said he worked with James Lam to build out the company’s enterprise risk management framework.
Before serving as Chief Risk Officer, Chesterman held the Head of Trading role at OANDA. His earlier career included a stint as Chief Operating Officer at Stater Global Markets and more than 14 years at IG. At IG, his roles included Chief Operating Officer of IG Institutional and Head of Futures and FX.
Chesterman said he plans to take a short break before moving to a new role, which he has yet to announce.
His departure comes after another OANDA leadership appointment. BrokersView recently reported that the company appointed Karolina Jasica as Global Compliance Officer.
