FXOpen UK Closes Accounts, Applies to Cancel FCA Licence

2 hours ago By Jane

FXOpen UK has closed all client accounts and asked customers to withdraw remaining funds, while FXOpen Ltd has applied to cancel its FCA authorisation.

Clients Told to Withdraw Funds

A notice on the broker’s UK website directs customers to withdraw funds through the Client Portal immediately, referring to earlier email communications.

FCA Cancellation Application Pending

The FCA register screenshots show FXOpen Ltd (FRN 579202) as “Authorised - applied to cancel”, with the “Applied to Cancel” sub-status dated 22 October 2026.

This does not mean cancellation is complete. The register says the firm must still meet FCA standards when dealing with customers.

Earlier Actions and Other UK Exits

BrokersView previously reported that ASIC cancelled FXOpen AU’s licence in September 2024 over core compliance failures. In October 2024, it reported that CySEC suspended the voting rights of Aliaksandr Klimenka in FXOpen EU Ltd over concerns about sound and prudent management.

These actions concerned separate entities and jurisdictions. The UK notice do not state a reason for the closure.

BrokersView’s March 2026 report on other UK licence cancellations covered Trive and GMI, alongside an application involving a CMC Markets subsidiary. It noted that CMC’s main UK entity remained authorised, showing that subsidiary restructuring and market withdrawal are different outcomes.

Clients should retain withdrawal confirmations and account records, and check the entity and permissions behind any broker. Follow BrokersView’s Q&A for broker regulation updates and questions.
