CNMV warns against unregistered investment platforms and clone entities

The National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) has issued fresh warnings against several unregistered entities allegedly offering investment services without authorization in Spain.

According to the regulator, the entities are not registered with the CNMV and are therefore not authorised to provide investment services or conduct activities subject to Spanish financial market supervision.

The warning also included a cloned website operating under the name “PROFARO TRADE”, which the CNMV said is unrelated to the legitimate Spanish investment company INNAT INVERSIONES SICAV S.A., formerly known as PROFIT INVERSIONES SICAV S.A.

The regulator urged investors to verify whether firms are properly authorised before investing and reminded the public to remain cautious of online investment offers and clone websites impersonating legitimate financial institutions.
