The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organisation (CIRO) has issued an investor warning about Interactive CA Brokers, a fraudulent crypto trading platform operating through intercb.com. The site is impersonating Interactive Brokers Canada Inc., a legitimate CIRO‑registered firm.
CIRO emphasised that Interactive CA Brokers has no affiliation with Interactive Brokers Canada Inc., the Canadian branch of Interactive Brokers. The only official website for the legitimate firm is interactivebrokers.ca.
The regulator urged investors to verify registration status directly through CIRO and to report any entity falsely claiming CIRO oversight or impersonating CIRO staff.
Impersonation of reputable financial institutions remains one of the most common tactics used in investment scams. Fraudsters often misuse well‑known brand details to create credibility and lure victims into depositing funds.
In September, a $2.5 million trading scam was uncovered in which an Oshawa man posed as a financial trader and misused the Interactive Brokers name to defraud investors.
