CFD broker Traze has appointed Bassem Abdou as Director of Business Development, adding another experienced executive to its commercial team as the company continues its hiring push in 2026.
Based in Dubai, Abdou joins Traze from OneRoyal, where he spent the past year in a similar business development role. Before that, he spent around eight years at Kuwait-based fintech firm SwissFS as Regional Manager of Business Development in the UAE. He also previously worked for around eight years at trading technology firm BMFN.
In his new role, Abdou will focus on expanding Traze's business development activities, building strategic partnerships, and identifying new commercial opportunities across the MENA region. His experience in regional business development and relationship management is expected to support the broker's efforts to strengthen its presence in key markets.
The appointment is part of a broader recruitment drive at Traze. Earlier this year, the broker hired George Nazih Girgis, formerly of ICM.com, as VP of Business Development, while Murilo de Oliveira joined from HFM as LATAM Country Manager. Traze also appointed GO Markets executive Naeem Afzal as Managing Director in Dubai, Equiti executive Ahmed Pasha to lead risk and trading, and Sanjay Malviya from Hantec to head sales in India.
Abdou announced his appointment on LinkedIn, saying he looked forward to building new opportunities and partnerships at Traze. He also highlighted the company's regulatory status in the UAE, where Traze Securities L.L.C. holds a Category 1 licence from the Capital Market Authority.
Traze is part of London-based Zeal Group and operates primarily from Dubai. The group has a presence across several jurisdictions, including the UAE, South Africa, the UK, and Seychelles.
Abdou's appointment adds further senior business development experience to Traze as the broker continues to expand its regional operations, strengthen partnerships, and pursue new growth opportunities across international markets.
