Alexis Jorge joined a panel discussion on the region’s trading outlook. Rather than simply relying on the latest technology, traders should focus on understanding how these tools work and how to use them effectively.

He highlighted four essential skills that traders should prioritize:

• Analytical thinking:Interpreting market information critically to make informed decisions.
• Psychological discipline:Maintaining emotional control and consistency when navigating market volatility.

Putting Trader Learning at the Center

Michel Cohen presented “The Trader’s University: What Should a Trader Really Learn?” He argued that brokers and partners should build relationships around informed participation and continued learning, not treat account opening as the end goal.

Cohen emphasized that trader education should start before an account opens, giving prospective traders a clear understanding of the market and its risks before they commit funds. He outlined a role for trading communities and education partners in explaining what participation involves, aligning expectations, and helping traders assess their readiness.

The two sessions complemented each other. The skills Jorge identified, from managing risk and leverage to thinking analytically and staying disciplined, are the same foundations Cohen argued traders should build before they start trading.

Connecting with Traders on the Expo Floor
