Malaysia SC Updates August Investor Alert List, Flags Robinhood Ventures, Omnitrade and KCEX

4 hours ago BrokersView

The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has updated its Investor Alert List for August, adding several entities suspected of conducting unauthorised investment activities, operating illegal investment schemes or misusing the identities of legitimate companies.

The latest update includes Robinhood Ventures / Robinhood Ventures Sdn Bhd, Omnitrade, KCEX Fintech Limited, as well as several potential clone entities and Telegram-based investment schemes.

The SC stressed that its Investor Alert List is not exhaustive and should only be used as a reference for investors before making investment decisions.

Robinhood Ventures and Omnitrade Added to SC Investor Alert List

According to the SC, Robinhood Ventures / Robinhood Ventures Sdn Bhd was flagged for allegedly carrying on unlicensed capital market activities involving corporate finance advisory services.

Meanwhile, Omnitrade, operating through omnitradefx.com, was listed for allegedly:

Operating an illegal investment scheme; and

Carrying on unlicensed capital market activities involving dealing in securities.

KCEX Fintech Limited Flagged for Unregistered Digital Asset Exchange

The SC also added KCEX Fintech Limited to its August Investor Alert List, stating that the entity was allegedly operating a digital asset exchange (DAX) without registration.

Potential Clone Entities and High-Return Investment Schemes

Several entities were identified as potential clones, including those using the names Etoro Group, Level 17 Capital, and Pelaburan Gold Trade OctaFx.

The suspected Level 17 Capital clone was accused of misusing the name and credentials of a legitimate SC-licensed entity to promote an investment scheme promising high returns.

Other entities added to the list include:

Golden Entry Prime

Akthar Sahabat Invest

Pelaburan Sy Success

Sunway Trade Malaysia

These entities were linked to alleged illegal investment schemes offering high returns and, in several cases, unlicensed capital market activities.

Investors Urged to Verify Before Investing

The latest Malaysia SC Investor Alert List highlights the continuing risks posed by unlicensed investment platforms, clone entities and schemes promising unusually high returns.

Investors are advised to verify whether a company, broker, investment platform or digital asset exchange is properly authorised before depositing or transferring funds.
