The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) has issued a warning to investors about ProInteractiveBrokers, a fraudulent platform operating through the domain www.prointeractivebrokers.com.
According to CIRO, fraudsters claiming to be agents of ProInteractiveBrokers have been targeting Canadian investors with emails designed to lure them into an investment recovery scam. These individuals falsely claim that the firm is regulated by CIRO and a member of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), CIRO’s predecessor.
In reality, ProInteractiveBrokers is not registered with CIRO, has no ties to IIROC, and is not affiliated with Interactive Brokers Canada Inc., which is a legitimate CIRO-regulated firm.

The scam relies on impersonation tactics, exploiting the credibility of a recognized regulatory body and a trusted financial institution.
This warning follows CIRO's earlier warning this month about Interactive CA Brokers, another impersonator of Interactive Brokers Canada Inc., which was found committing crypto trading fraud through intercb.com.
CIRO urged investors to verify registration status directly through CIRO and to report any entity falsely claiming CIRO oversight or impersonating CIRO staff.
Stay Vigilant: Recovery scams often target victims of previous fraud, promising to help reclaim lost funds while instead stealing more.
Investors are urged to exercise extreme caution, verify all claims of regulatory oversight, and avoid engaging with unverified platforms.
