Fiserv Reshuffles Executive Team and Board in Strategic Leadership Overhaul

Oct 30, 2025 BrokersView

Fiserv, Inc. (NYSE: FI) has announced a series of leadership and boardroom changes aimed at reinforcing strategic execution and governance as the financial technology provider continues to expand globally.

Effective December 1, 2025, the company will appoint Takis Georgakopoulos, currently Chief Operating Officer for Technology and Merchant Solutions, and Dhivya Suryadevara, former CEO of Optum Financial Services and Optum Insight at UnitedHealth Group, as Co-Presidents. Georgakopoulos will continue to oversee Merchant Solutions and Technology, while Suryadevara will take charge of Financial Solutions, Sales, and Operations.

In addition, Paul Todd, previously Chief Financial Officer of Global Payments, will become CFO of Fiserv effective October 31, 2025, succeeding Robert Hau, who will transition to a senior advisory role through the first quarter of 2026 to ensure continuity.

The company also announced upcoming Board of Directors changes. Gordon Nixon, Céline Dufétel, and Gary Shedlin will join the board on January 1, 2026, with Nixon set to become Independent Chairman, succeeding Doyle Simons. Shedlin will chair the audit committee, replacing Kevin Warren, while Dufétel will join the same committee as a member. Both Simons and Warren will step down from the board on the same date.

Once the changes are complete, Fiserv's board will consist of 11 directors, 10 of whom will be independent, with six new members appointed over the past two years.

Industry observers note that the leadership reshuffle appears designed to strengthen oversight and execution as Fiserv seeks to balance growth in merchant solutions with innovation in financial services technology. The company stated the appointments reflect its ongoing focus on "long-term value creation" and board independence.
