The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) has issued an investor alert on an impersonation scam involving a fraudulent investment platform known as AllRealGroup, also operating under the name AllReal Investments Pty Ltd.
The scam falsely claims endorsements from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith to promote its forex trading services, using their images and spreading fake social media posts. The entity, which operates via the website all-realgroup.net, offers leveraged forex trading and currency pairs trading to Saskatchewan residents.
According to the FCAA, AllRealGroup is not registered to trade or sell securities or derivatives in Saskatchewan. The regulator cautions investors against dealing with any unregistered firms.
Dean Murrison, FCAA Securities Division Executive Director, reminds investors to always check an entity’s registration status before investing. "Scammers often create fake news articles to mimic legitimate media and try to get you to make an investment based on a notable figure endorsement," said Dean Murrison.
FCAA further urges investors to understand the product or service before committing funds, to avoid investment decisions based solely on celebrity or political endorsements, and to never allow unknown individuals remote access to personal devices.
As AI technology advances, impersonation scams using deepfake videos and fabricated endorsements have become increasingly prevalent. Just yesterday, an Indian man reportedly lost ₹6.6 million in an online investment scam involving an AI-generated deepfake video falsely featuring a Finance Minister endorsement.
