FCA Warning: Unlicensed FX Brokers Linked by Shared Locations and Website Clones

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has updated its warnings about unlicensed brokers to alert investors to potential risks.

The FCA identified 120 unauthorized financial firms that falsely claim or imply they offer forex trading services in the past week. The regulator has released details of these firms to warn UK investors about the risks.

In a list of unregulated brokers released last week by the UK FCA, as many as 85 platforms exhibited highly similar characteristics, primarily in website design, promotional slogans, and contact information.

Among them, 25 brokers all listed the same address: 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London, E14 5AB; while 34 others claimed their office location as "11 Grace Avenue, STE 108, Great Neck." Notably, these platforms sometimes list this address as being in the United States and other times as being in the UK, revealing clear contradictions.

These unlicensed brokers also commonly employed highly similar website design and used uniformly formatted promotional slogans on their pages: Trade Global Markets with us/[Platform name]/[adjective]".

Investors should exercise extreme caution, as the address information provided by these platforms may be false. The high similarity between their websites also suggests they may originate from the same mastermind.

Furthermore, the FCA specifically noted that the platform CopyFinx may be impersonating other brokers.

Last week, the FCA also issued warnings about other new unlicensed brokers, some of which share identical website designs with previously flagged platforms, indicating connections.
