CNMV Warns Against Clone Websites Impersonating Registered Investment Firms
Spain’s National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) has issued a warning against two websites suspected of impersonating authorised investment firms and providing unauthorised investment services.
The regulator said the entities identified in the warning are not registered with the CNMV and therefore are not authorised to provide investment services or other activities under its supervision. The websites allegedly use the identities of legitimate firms to appear credible and attract potential investors.
CNMV reminded investors to verify whether a financial service provider is officially registered before engaging with any investment offer.
