CNMV Warns Against 10 Unauthorised Investment Platforms and Clone Firms
Spain's securities regulator, the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), has issued a new warning against 10 entities suspected of offering investment services without authorisation. The regulator stated that these firms are not registered with the CNMV and are therefore not permitted to provide investment services or conduct activities subject to its supervision in Spain.
Several of the warnings involve websites and brands linked to alleged online investment schemes, while others relate to clone entities impersonating legitimate authorised firms. The alert also highlights recurring financial fraud campaigns promoted through social media, often using fake celebrity endorsements, fabricated news articles, and AI-generated content to lure investors.
CNMV reminded investors to verify a firm's regulatory status before investing and urged the public to report suspected unauthorised investment offers through its official reporting channels.
The warning forms part of CNMV's ongoing efforts to combat unauthorised investment firms, clone websites, and AI-assisted financial scams targeting retail investors. Investors are advised to independently verify regulatory authorisation and remain cautious of unsolicited investment opportunities promising high returns.
