Rockfort Review Overview

In this comprehensive Rockfort review, we analyze the platform's regulatory standing, trading conditions, and account options. This independent assessment breaks down key performance metrics to help you determine if Rockfort is a good broker for your specific financial goals.

Is Rockfort Legit and Safe?

Rockfort provides minimal regulatory safeguards for retail investors due to the cancellation of its primary New Zealand derivatives license [1]. While the company has historical roots in structured jurisdictions, the loss of its domestic operating licenses has transitioned its core retail service to an offshore entity that lacks active regulatory supervision.

Rockfort review

What Is Rockfort? Company Background

Rockfort Markets Limited was established in New Zealand in 2014 and initially functioned as a regulated derivatives issuer. In May 2023, the broker underwent a major brand transition, adopting the retail trading name "RockGlobal" (rockglobal.com) to streamline its international services. Historically, the platform offered forex trading, shares, and contract-for-difference (CFD) products. Following severe regulatory enforcement actions in mid-2024, Rockfort closed its domestic retail operations, transferring its remaining New Zealand clients to BlackBull Markets in October 2024. Today, its operations are almost entirely focused on servicing international retail clients through unregulated offshore channels.

Rockfort Regulation

Rockfort, operating under its retail brand RockGlobal, is registered with the Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR) of New Zealand and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). While ASIC represents a strict, tier-1 regulatory authority, Rockfort’s Australian entity holds an advisory license rather than a trading one, meaning it is legally barred from accepting retail trading funds. Licensing records can be checked directly through the official ASIC official database. You can check the ASIC official register to verify Rockfort's license details by searching the Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) number 282288.

The regulatory framework governing Rockfort includes registrations in multiple jurisdictions with vastly different levels of investor protection.

Entity NameRegulatorLicense NumberRegulatory TierInvestor Protection
Rockfort Markets Limited (trading as RockGlobal)Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR)FSP509766Registered (FMA License Cancelled) [1]None; cannot legally issue retail derivatives in New Zealand [1]
RockGlobal Capital Markets Pty LtdAustralian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC)282288Tier 1 (Advisory Only)None; restricted to financial consulting and does not accept client funds
RockGlobal International LLCSaint Vincent & the Grenadines FSA (SVG FSA)3108 LLC 2023Unregulated (Offshore Registry)None; operates outside the bounds of active financial supervision

The key takeaway is that retail traders are primarily routed through the unregulated offshore entity in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, leaving them without any significant investor protections or regulatory safety nets.

Which Rockfort Entity Serves Your Region?

  • International Retail Traders: Everyday clients from around the globe are served exclusively by RockGlobal International LLC, registered as a Limited Liability Company in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
  • Onboarding differences: Registering with the offshore SVG entity requires minimal documentation, and accounts are opened almost instantly with access to high leverage. In contrast, registering under highly regulated entities typically involves stringent compliance, source-of-wealth verifications, and strict leverage caps.
  • Investor protection differences: The offshore SVG entity lacks negative balance protection, client compensation fund coverage, or access to an independent financial ombudsman.
  • Offshore vs. regulated onboarding: While offshore onboarding offers the operational convenience of higher leverage and flexible account rules, it eliminates the legal recourse and fund security that come with top-tier regulation.

Restricted Countries

  • Unsupported jurisdictions: Rockfort does not accept clients from the United States, China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria due to local regulatory boundaries.
  • New Zealand restrictions: Following the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) decision to cancel its Derivatives Issuer license in July 2024, the broker is legally prohibited from offering retail derivatives or trading services to residents of New Zealand [1].

Client Fund Protection

  • Client funds are reportedly kept in segregated bank accounts at major financial institutions, which prevents the broker from using trader capital for its own operational expenses.
  • There are no investor compensation schemes available through the offshore entity, meaning that if Rockfort faces insolvency, traders have no regulatory authority to appeal to for fund recovery.
  • Guaranteed negative balance protection is not offered, meaning that extreme market gaps could push a trader's account balance below zero, making them liable for the resulting debt.

Rockfort User Reviews and Trustpilot Rating

Rockfort holds a Trustpilot rating of 3.5/5 based on 10 reviews, reflecting mixed and highly limited user sentiment. The overall sentiment across general trading channels leans mixed to negative, as the small sample of formal Trustpilot reviews is heavily overshadowed by a higher volume of critical reports on specialized industry forums. To evaluate these experiences firsthand, traders can See Rockfort reviews on Trustpilot.

According to user feedback documented as of June 2026, the community's experiences are divided:

  • Recurring Positive Feedback:

    • Execution and Software: Several clients commend the broker's fast order execution speed and the overall stability of its trading software during normal market hours.
    • Competitive Pricing: Casual traders note that spreads are relatively competitive on basic account types.
    • Educational Value: Some users highlight the helpfulness of the platform's initial onboarding guidance and educational resources.
  • Recurring Complaints:

    • Withdrawal Delays: A significant number of users report extensive delays in getting their withdrawal requests approved, with some waiting weeks for their funds.
    • Account Suspensions and Profit Deductions: The most severe complaints involve arbitrary account closures where the broker retroactively deducted profits, frequently citing vague violations such as "bonus abuse" or "external hedging violations" without providing clear evidence.
    • Trading Halts: Multiple clients have expressed frustration over the sudden suspension of trading on highly volatile assets, which prevented them from managing open risk effectively.

Rockfort Account Types

Rockfort provides two main account options—a commission-free Standard account and a raw-spread Pro account—designed to accommodate both retail beginners and high-volume traders. These tiers allow investors to align their choice with their capital levels, risk tolerance, and execution strategies.

Rockfort Account Types and Minimum Deposit Requirements

  • Standard Account:

    • Minimum Deposit: $200
    • Maximum Leverage: Up to 1:500
    • Spreads: From 0.8 pips
    • Commission: $0
    • Practical Application: The Standard account acts as the primary gateway for retail traders, featuring a relatively accessible minimum entry barrier of $200. Because it is commission-free, all trading costs are integrated directly into the bid-ask spread. This simplified pricing structure is ideal for beginners, swing traders, and casual investors who prefer a straightforward cost model without having to calculate separate transaction commissions on every order.
  • Pro Account:

    • Minimum Deposit: $2,000
    • Maximum Leverage: Up to 1:500
    • Spreads: From 0.0 pips
    • Commission: $6 per lot round-turn ($3 per side)
    • Practical Application: The Pro account is tailored for experienced, professional, or high-volume traders, requiring a much higher starting deposit of $2,000. In exchange for this commitment, Rockfort grants access to direct-market ECN liquidity with raw spreads starting from 0.0 pips. While traders pay a fixed round-turn commission of $6 per lot, this flat-fee model is far more cost-effective for scalpers, high-frequency day traders, and algorithmic EA users, who rely on the tightest possible spreads to optimize their entry and exit points.

Does Rockfort Offer an Islamic Account?

Yes, Rockfort offers swap-free Islamic accounts for both Standard and Pro tiers upon request to accommodate traders of the Islamic faith. These accounts fully comply with Sharia law by removing all interest-based overnight rollover fees (swaps), replacing them with flat administrative handling fees for positions left open across multiple trading days.

Rockfort Fees and Trading Costs

Rockfort places its trading fees in the industry mid-range, pairing standard spreads on commission-free accounts with a competitive $6 per-lot commission for Pro traders. This dual-pricing architecture allows market participants to select a fee model that best matches their transaction frequency and volume.

Rockfort Trading Fees (Spreads / Commission Fees / Swap and Overnight Fees)

  • Spreads and Commissions: On the commission-free Standard account, Rockfort bundles all trading costs into the bid-ask spread, which starts at 0.8 pips for major currency pairs like EUR/USD and averages around 1.2 pips during highly liquid market sessions. This model eliminates flat commissions entirely. On the Pro account, spreads are raw and start as low as 0.0 pips, with the broker charging a flat round-turn commission of $6 per standard lot ($3 per side). This commission is highly competitive and aligns with the pricing models of other major retail brokers.
  • Swap and Overnight Fees: Traders who hold positions past the daily market close (22:00 GMT) are subject to swap charges, which represent the overnight interest rate differential between the two currencies being traded. These fees can be either positive (credited) or negative (debited) based on the trade direction and the prevailing interbank interest rates. A triple swap fee is applied on Wednesday nights to cover the weekend settlement period. Swap-free Islamic accounts are available to bypass these charges upon verification of religious eligibility, although they are subject to flat, time-delayed administrative fees.

Rockfort Non-Trading Fees (Inactivity Fees / Currency Conversion Fees)

  • Inactivity Fees: Rockfort enforces a monthly inactivity fee of $20 if an account remains dormant with no trading activity for a continuous period of six months. This fee is automatically deducted from any remaining account balance until trading resumes or the balance reaches zero.
  • Currency Conversion Fees: When depositing, trading, or withdrawing in a currency that differs from the account's base currency (e.g., depositing in EUR into a USD-denominated trading account), a standard conversion fee is applied. This conversion is processed at the broker's prevailing real-time exchange rate plus a small administrative markup.

Rockfort Deposits & Withdrawals (Deposit and Withdrawal Methods / Withdrawal Speed and Minimum Limits / Deposit and Withdrawal Fees / Withdrawal Issues and User Complaints)

Rockfort supports a standard selection of global payment methods with reasonable processing times, though international bank wire withdrawals are subject to a $15 transaction fee.

Traders can fund their accounts using several secure payment channels, including major credit and debit cards (Visa and Mastercard), traditional international bank wire transfers, and popular electronic wallets such as Skrill and Neteller. The minimum deposit requirement to start trading on a live Standard account is $200, while the Pro account demands a much higher initial barrier of $2,000.

Processing times for deposits are typically instant when using credit cards or electronic wallets, allowing funds to reflect in the trading terminal immediately. Bank wire transfers, however, usually require 1 to 3 business days to be credited, depending on the routing banks. Withdrawal requests are processed by the broker's back-office team within 24 to 48 business hours. Once approved, funds sent to credit cards or e-wallets usually arrive within 1 business day, whereas international bank wires can take an additional 3 to 5 business days to reach the client's destination bank account.

Deposit transactions are generally free of charge on the broker's end, although third-party payment processors or credit card issuers may impose their own transactional fees. For withdrawals, the broker does not charge a fee for domestic bank transfers where localized clearing is available. However, all international wire transfers or withdrawals processed in foreign currencies carry a flat administrative fee of $15 per transaction, which is deducted directly from the withdrawn amount.

While many traders navigate the deposit and withdrawal process without incident, several verified user complaints on independent trading forums highlight recurring friction. Specifically, multiple users have reported experiencing unexpected, prolonged delays when attempting to withdraw their profits. In several documented instances, the broker delayed or blocked withdrawal requests entirely, citing suspicious trading activities, such as "external hedging" or "promotional bonus arbitrage," to justify withholding the disputed funds and closing the associated accounts.

Rockfort Trading Platforms, Conditions & Experience

Rockfort supports the popular MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms, pairing them with competitive leverage up to 1:500, though its research and customer support features remain basic. Traders can access the global markets across multiple devices, though actual execution quality and support response times can vary depending on market volatility.

Does Rockfort Support MT4, MT5 & Mobile Trading?

Rockfort delivers full-license access to both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, supporting desktop, web, and mobile trading versions for both platforms. This dual-platform offering ensures that traders of all experience levels can operate in a familiar, high-performance environment.

  • MetaTrader 4 (MT4): This platform remains the industry standard for retail forex trading due to its lightweight interface, advanced charting tools, and support for automated Expert Advisors (EAs).
  • MetaTrader 5 (MT5): This multi-asset platform provides more advanced features, including additional timeframes, a built-in economic calendar, depth of market (DOM) pricing, and enhanced backtesting capabilities for algorithmic trading.
  • Supported systems: Windows, macOS, WebTrader, iOS, and Android mobile applications.

By providing both platforms, the broker accommodates FX traditionalists who prefer the simplicity of MT4, as well as modern multi-asset traders who require the expanded analytical depth of MT5.

What Can You Trade on Rockfort? (markets and instruments)

Rockfort provides a diverse catalog of over 60 currency pairs alongside contract-for-difference (CFD) assets covering indices, commodities, and select equities. While the broker historically offered physical share trading, its post-restructuring catalog is now centered exclusively on derivative CFDs.

  • Tradable assets: forex, stock CFDs, indices, precious metals, energies, and select cryptocurrencies.

The core asset classes available on the platform include:

  • Forex: More than 60 currency pairs, comprising major pairs like EUR/USD and GBP/USD, minor crosses, and highly volatile exotic currencies.
  • Indices CFDs: Roughly 11 global stock indices, allowing traders to speculate on major economic baskets like the S&P 500, Nasdaq, and DAX.
  • Commodities: CFDs on precious metals (Gold and Silver) and energy benchmarks (WTI and Brent Crude Oil).
  • Shares & Cryptocurrencies: A streamlined selection of equity CFDs representing major multinational companies, alongside a handful of major cryptocurrency pairs like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Rockfort Leverage, Margin & Order Execution

Rockfort offers high leverage options up to 1:500 for global retail accounts, executing orders via a hybrid Straight-Through Processing (STP) and Market Maker model with an average speed of 300ms. The exact leverage available to a trader depends on the regulatory jurisdiction of their onboarded account and the specific asset class being traded.

  • Leverage Limits: Global retail accounts managed under the offshore St. Vincent and the Grenadines entity are eligible for leverage up to 1:500 on forex majors. Under strict tier-1 regulatory frameworks (such as Australia's ASIC), retail leverage is legally capped at 30:1, though RockGlobal’s Australian division operates strictly as an advisory firm and does not host retail trading accounts.
  • Margin Requirements: Operating at 1:500 leverage requires a margin of just 0.20% of the total position size, giving traders significant market exposure with minimal capital outlay.
  • Execution Infrastructure: The broker utilizes a hybrid STP/Market Maker setup. This means that while standard orders are routed directly to deep liquidity pools for rapid execution, the broker may also internalize certain order flows, creating a potential conflict of interest where the broker acts as the counterparty to the trade.

Rockfort Research Tools & Educational Resources

Rockfort supplies limited educational materials and standard research utilities, occasionally partnering with third-party providers like Trading Central to assist with technical analysis. The broker’s learning resources are primary in nature and do not match the highly detailed educational libraries of its tier-1 competitors.

  • Research Capabilities: Traders have access to a standard daily market blog, economic calendars, and basic technical analysis write-ups. High-tier account holders can also integrate Trading Central’s automated technical indicators and market insights directly into their trading terminals.
  • Educational Offering: The educational section consists of basic platform setup guides, glossary pages, and brief explanations of basic risk management concepts.
  • Educational depth: Very basic — the lack of comprehensive webinars, video tutorials, or advanced interactive courses limits its utility for beginners looking for structured learning paths.

How Good Is Rockfort Customer Support?

Rockfort maintains 24/5 customer support via email and phone, though user reviews often highlight slow response times and generic communication during trading disputes. Support teams operate from Monday through Friday during global market trading hours.

  • Support Channels: Assistance can be reached via international telephone lines (+64 221358315) or directly through email (support@rockfortmarkets.com or accounts@rockglobal.co.nz).
  • Support accessibility: Limited — the absence of an active, 24/7 live chat option makes resolving urgent technical or account-related issues slower than the industry average.
  • Client Feedback: While initial inquiries and basic onboarding questions are resolved fairly quickly, users frequently report that complex issues — particularly those regarding delayed withdrawals, arbitrary profit adjustments, or account closures — are met with highly delayed, scripted, or unhelpful replies from the support desk.

Who Is Rockfort Best For?

Rockfort is primarily appealing to high-risk, high-leverage traders who utilize MetaTrader platforms, but it remains a poor fit for safety-conscious investors who prioritize strict regulatory oversight. Understanding your personal risk tolerance and trading requirements is critical to determining if this broker fits your financial strategy.

Is Rockfort Good for High-Leverage Traders?

Rockfort is highly suitable for high-leverage traders who require up to 1:500 purchasing power and quick, flexible offshore onboarding. By routing accounts through its St. Vincent and the Grenadines registry, the broker bypasses the strict 30:1 leverage limits enforced in jurisdictions like Europe and Australia. This high-leverage structure allows experienced traders with aggressive risk profiles to maximize their market exposure with relatively small capital requirements. However, because the broker does not offer guaranteed negative balance protection, traders must manage this extreme leverage carefully to avoid substantial debt liabilities in highly volatile market environments.

Is Rockfort Good for Regulation-Focused Traders?

Rockfort is entirely unsuitable for regulation-focused traders due to the cancellation of its primary retail derivatives license and its lack of active tier-1 oversight [1]. Following the New Zealand FMA's regulatory enforcement and subsequent license cancellation in mid-2024, the broker cannot offer retail trading under a strict regulatory framework [1]. Furthermore, its Australian ASIC registration is strictly limited to financial advisory services, meaning international retail traders are onboarded through an unregulated offshore entity. Investors who prioritize deposit safety, government-backed compensation schemes, and access to a formal financial ombudsman will not find those essential protections here.

Is Rockfort Good for MetaTrader Users?

Rockfort is a strong operational fit for MetaTrader users who need uncompromised, full-license access to both the MT4 and MT5 software suites. The broker does not lock advanced features behind paywalls, allowing algorithmic traders and technical chartists to deploy custom indicators and automated Expert Advisors (EAs) with ease. Standard and Pro account types integrate seamlessly with both platforms, meaning traders can easily scale their setup as their trading volume increases. Nonetheless, while the terminal software itself is highly reliable, users must weigh these platform advantages against the broker's broader history of withdrawal friction and limited regulatory safety nets.

Best for: High-leverage MetaTrader traders seeking offshore operational flexibility · Less ideal for: Safety-conscious retail investors, New Zealand residents, and budget-conscious beginners.

Compare Rockfort with Other Popular Brokers

Rockfort operates at a distinct disadvantage compared to tier-1 regulated competitors, offering similar trading software but far fewer client protections and higher operational risks. Comparing this broker side-by-side with industry-leading alternatives highlights the critical trade-offs in safety, pricing, and execution quality.

Rockfort vs BlackBull Markets

Rockfort offers similar MetaTrader platforms to BlackBull Markets, but it lacks the strict New Zealand FMA regulation and deep multi-asset liquidity of its Auckland-based rival. While Rockfort requires a standard $200 minimum deposit for its retail accounts, BlackBull Markets provides a zero-minimum-deposit option that makes starting much easier for beginners. In terms of regulatory security, the contrast is stark; BlackBull Markets is fully licensed and strictly overseen by the FMA in New Zealand, whereas Rockfort lost its FMA derivatives license in 2024 and transitioned its retail clients to BlackBull itself [1]. Spreads on BlackBull are also consistently tighter, averaging 0.1 to 0.2 pips lower on major pairs; on the other hand, Rockfort’s spreads tend to widen more noticeably during off-peak trading sessions.

Rockfort is suited only for offshore, high-leverage trading; BlackBull Markets is the superior choice for regulatory safety and asset variety.

Rockfort vs IC Markets

Rockfort matches IC Markets on maximum leverage of 1:500, but it cannot compete with the Australian broker's institutional-grade pricing and strict tier-1 regulatory framework. Both brokers demand a starting deposit of $200, yet IC Markets delivers significantly lower overall trading costs. Spreads on the IC Markets Raw Spread account average a true 0.0 to 0.1 pips with a $7 round-turn commission; by contrast, Rockfort's Pro account spreads frequently hover around 0.2 pips with a slightly lower $6 commission. Regulatory oversight is another key differentiator; IC Markets operates under the strict supervision of ASIC and CySEC, whereas Rockfort's retail client base is entirely managed via an unregulated offshore subsidiary in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Rockfort is suitable for traders seeking a cheaper commission rate on a $2,000 deposit; IC Markets is the better choice for ultra-tight spreads and regulatory security.

Rockfort vs TMGM

Rockfort and TMGM both focus heavily on the Asia-Pacific retail trading sector, but TMGM provides a vastly superior liquidity environment and much stronger ASIC regulatory credentials. On the account entry side, TMGM requires a lower minimum deposit of $100 compared to Rockfort’s $200 threshold, allowing casual traders a more accessible path to live markets. Spreads on TMGM’s Edge account are consistently tighter than Rockfort's equivalents; furthermore, TMGM’s order execution is audited and strictly backed by tier-1 ASIC regulation. On the other hand, Rockfort routes its retail clients offshore, leaving traders without the multi-jurisdictional negative balance protections that TMGM provides to its qualified customer segments.

Rockfort appeals to high-volume Pro traders wanting a slightly lower round-turn commission fee; TMGM is the better option for low-budget traders wanting tier-1 oversight.

Rockfort Broker Quick Verdict

Rockfort remains a viable option for high-leverage MetaTrader enthusiasts, though its lack of active tier-1 regulation and history of client withdrawal friction make it a risky choice for safety-conscious investors. This Rockfort review concludes that while its 1:500 leverage is operationally attractive, the absence of robust regulatory protection significantly compromises the overall safety of client capital.

Editorial Transparency: This Rockfort review is based on information from the official Rockfort website, current regulatory filings, and independent third-party sources such as Trustpilot. We cross-checked the broker's regulation and license details, account types, trading and non-trading fees, deposit and withdrawal terms, platforms, and real user feedback to ensure accuracy and objectivity. I’m happy with the service provided by the company and its representatives, they are always available to answer any queries you may have. They do keep checking on clients if they are doing okay and if they need any support. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is, it would be fabulous if they could workout and come up in future with daily trade set up’s (recommendation) which I’m sure would definitely help inexperienced or beginner traders.I have always dealt with Vishal and he has always been supportive and informative.Thank you Rockfort.
