Pros & Cons
Pros
  • Strong regulatory compliance through active licensing with CySEC and the BVI FSC, ensuring high levels of client capital protection and fund segregation.
  • Extensive market access featuring over 800 tradable CFDs and 100+ currency pairs, allowing for broad portfolio diversification from a single account.
  • Intuitive proprietary trading platform equipped with the integrated "Pulse" newsfeed and live market sentiment tools, providing manual traders with streamlined research and seamless execution.
  • Comprehensive educational ecosystem highlighted by free 1-on-1 personal training sessions in multiple native languages, helping beginner traders rapidly build technical skills and confidence.
  • Low financial entry barrier with a minimum deposit of just $100 for standard accounts, making live market access highly affordable for beginner retail traders.
Cons
  • Complete lack of MetaTrader integration as trading is restricted exclusively to the broker's proprietary platform, preventing experienced traders from using industry-standard tools like MT4 and MT5.
  • Strict prohibition on scalping and automated trading with the company's terms explicitly banning ultra-short-term strategies and Expert Advisors (EAs), making it unsuitable for high-frequency or algorithmic traders.
  • Costly bank wire withdrawal fees featuring a flat $20 charge on international bank wire payouts, which can significantly erode the profits of retail traders withdrawing smaller amounts of capital.
  • Elevated trading spreads on major pairs averaging around 1.1 pips on EUR/USD with no option for a raw ECN account, increasing the overall cost of entry for active intraday traders.
iFOREX Review Overview

This comprehensive review evaluates the platform's regulatory safety, trading fees, and proprietary software. By examining these essential features, we help you answer a fundamental question: is iFOREX a good broker for your needs?

Is iFOREX Legit and Safe?

iFOREX is a highly established global broker with nearly thirty years of financial experience, although its safety standards and regulatory protections vary depending on whether you register under its European branch or its offshore subsidiary.

iFOREX review

What Is iFOREX? Company Background

Founded in 1996, iFOREX is one of the retail trading industry’s longest-standing brokerage brands, boasting an operating history of three decades [1]. The broker operates as part of the larger iFOREX Group, which utilizes regional corporate entities to onboard and manage traders globally. Historically headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus, iFOREX has steadily expanded its reach to serve retail clients across more than 100 countries. A major corporate milestone occurred when its parent group, iFOREX Financial Trading Holdings Ltd, completed its public listing under the ticker symbol IFRX on the London Stock Exchange. This transition to a publicly traded corporation introduces stringent regulatory standards, mandatory financial reporting, and strict operational transparency that privately held offshore competitors are rarely subjected to.

iFOREX Regulation

iFOREX is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission [1]. These regulatory bodies represent a mix of tier-2 European supervision and a tier-3 offshore regulatory framework. Traders can check the regulatory status of the broker's European operations directly on the CySEC official website. To verify this license independently, search for iCFD Limited or CySEC license number 143/11 on the regulator's registry. For international registrations outside Europe, traders can check the status of Formula Investment House Ltd on the BVI FSC official portal.

The comparison table below details the regulatory statuses, operating entities, and investor protections associated with the iFOREX Group:

Operating EntityRegulatorLicense NumberRegulatory TierInvestor Protection
iCFD Limited (iFOREX Europe)Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC)143/11Tier 2Negative balance protection, segregated accounts, Investor Compensation Fund (ICF) up to €20,000
Formula Investment House Ltd (iFOREX Global)British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (BVI FSC)SIBA/L/13/1060Tier 3 (Offshore)Segregated accounts, negative balance protection, no statutory compensation scheme

While European traders benefit from robust regulatory oversight under CySEC, international clients trade under the offshore FSC entity where they lose access to statutory government-backed compensation schemes.

Which iFOREX Entity Serves Your Region?

Clients are automatically assigned to the correct corporate entity based on their country of residence during the sign-up process.

  • "EEA clients are onboarded via iCFD Limited, which restricts maximum retail leverage to 1:30 and provides full compliance with European MiFID II investor protections."
  • "Global clients from unsupported non-EEA regions register under Formula Investment House Ltd, giving them access to higher leverage up to 1:400 but without the backing of a major European compensation fund."
  • "The verification process is mandatory across both entities, requiring government-issued identification and proof of address before any trading account is cleared for withdrawals."

Restricted Countries

Because of international regulatory friction and domestic licensing restrictions, iFOREX does not accept clients from certain jurisdictions.

  • "Restricted jurisdictions: United States, Canada, Belgium, Singapore, Israel, New Zealand, Iran, North Korea, and Syria."
  • "Local regulatory limitations and strict domestic licensing laws prohibit foreign CFD providers from marketing services within these territories."

Client Fund Protection

iFOREX implements multiple safety layers to secure retail deposits and prevent exposure to corporate financial risks. These mechanisms operate regardless of whether the account falls under onshore European oversight or offshore jurisdiction.

  • "Client funds are kept in segregated bank accounts at reputable international institutions, separating consumer deposits completely from the broker's own working capital."
  • "Mandatory negative balance protection is active for all retail trading accounts, preventing clients from losing more than their deposited capital during extreme market gaps."
  • "European clients are protected by the Investor Compensation Fund (ICF), which guarantees claims up to €20,000 if the licensed entity faces insolvency."

iFOREX User Reviews and Trustpilot Rating

iFOREX holds a Trustpilot rating of 4.5/5 based on approximately 115 reviews as of June 2026, reflecting highly positive overall customer sentiment. While the total number of reviews is relatively modest for a long-standing broker, the feedback provides valuable insights into real client experiences. To check current ratings, you can See iFOREX reviews on Trustpilot to read direct consumer testimonies.

The platform's feedback highlights several key strengths and weaknesses based on recurring themes from active traders:

  • Account Manager Quality: Clients frequently commend the highly cooperative, polite, and responsive nature of assigned account managers who assist with platform navigation and market onboarding.
  • Integrated Signals: Users express strong appreciation for the broker's proprietary tools, particularly the trading signals and "Pulse" market indicator, which help inform their market entries and exits.
  • Consistent Withdrawals: The broker receives praise for executing payouts reliably, with customer service representatives stepping in promptly to resolve minor compliance issues if they arise.
  • Lack of MetaTrader Integration: A recurring point of frustration for experienced traders is the absence of MT4 and MT5, forcing them to adapt to the broker's proprietary software interface.
  • Compliance Bottlenecks: Some users report withdrawal delays, which are typically triggered by mandatory regulatory verification steps, identity proof requirements, or security checks during the first payout.
  • Signal Dependence Warnings: Several critical reviews note that while the built-in trading signals are helpful, beginners may risk losses if they follow them blindly without performing their own independent analysis.

iFOREX Account Types

iFOREX offers a highly streamlined, commission-free account structure with an accessible $100 minimum deposit, though high leverage options up to 1:400 are restricted to its offshore entity.

iFOREX Account Types and Minimum Deposit Requirements

iFOREX simplifies the onboarding process by grouping its retail services into two core tiers: the Standard Account and the VIP Account. The Standard Account features an entry barrier of $100, which is perfectly positioned to accommodate novice traders who want to gain exposure to real markets without committing substantial upfront capital. Under this standard account, there are no commissions; instead, iFOREX operates on a spread-only pricing model where trading costs are baked directly into the bid-ask spread, typically averaging around 1.1 to 1.5 pips for the EUR/USD currency pair.

For seasoned traders or high-net-worth individuals, the VIP Account requires a higher minimum deposit of $5,000. In practice, this premium tier rewards clients with significantly tighter spreads and one-on-one professional support from a dedicated account manager, offsetting the higher initial capital barrier for active, high-volume traders.

Importantly, retail leverage is strictly segmented by regional jurisdiction. European clients operating under CySEC-regulated iCFD Limited face a hard regulatory cap of 1:30 to protect against rapid capital loss. Conversely, international traders onboarded through the offshore FSC entity can utilize maximum leverage of up to 1:400. While this high leverage amplifies potential gains, it also drastically elevates risk, requiring disciplined risk-management as the broker's automatic margin-closeout protocols will liquidate positions if account capital falls below safety thresholds.

Does iFOREX Offer an Islamic Account?

Yes, iFOREX offers swap-free Islamic accounts to traders who adhere to Sharia law, completely eliminating overnight interest charges (riba). To activate an Islamic account, clients must contact the customer support team or their assigned account manager after registering a Standard account, and they may be asked to provide proof of faith to complete the conversion. Once approved, the account operates under standard pricing conditions but allows trades to be held overnight indefinitely without incurring or earning any rollover fees.

iFOREX Fees and Trading Costs

iFOREX operates on a commission-free pricing model with average EUR/USD spreads of 1.1 pips, though its inactivity fees and overnight swap rates can increase overall trading costs for long-term investors.

iFOREX Trading Fees (Spreads / Commission Fees / Swap and Overnight Fees)

Trading costs at iFOREX are structured around a variable spread system, with no separate execution commissions applied to standard retail trades. This spread-only model provides simplicity but means spreads are slightly wider than those offered by raw-spread brokers who charge a flat commission.

  • "Variable spreads start at 1.1 pips for EUR/USD and 1.6 pips for GBP/USD, positioning iFOREX in the mid-range of retail CFD brokers."
  • "The broker maintains a $0 commission policy across all trades, meaning transaction costs are fully consolidated into the bid-ask spreads."
  • "Overnight swap fees are debited or credited daily at the close of the trading session, with a triple-charge applied on Fridays to account for the weekend market closure."

For swing traders, these overnight financing rates are highly competitive. Unlike many competitors that charge premium markups on overnight holds, iFOREX’s swap rates track interbank rates closely, allowing long-term position traders to minimize carrying costs.

iFOREX Non-Trading Fees (Inactivity Fees / Currency Conversion Fees)

Beyond actual trade execution, iFOREX charges administrative fees under specific account conditions. These non-trading costs are easily avoidable but are important for passive investors to keep in mind.

  • "An inactivity fee of $15 per quarter is levied on dormant accounts after 12 consecutive months of no transaction or funding activity."
  • "Currency conversion fees are automatically applied when trading, depositing, or withdrawing in a currency different from the account's base denomination."

iFOREX Deposits & Withdrawals (Deposit and Withdrawal Methods / Withdrawal Speed and Minimum Limits / Deposit and Withdrawal Fees / Withdrawal Issues and User Complaints)

iFOREX provides a fee-free deposit system across multiple payment methods, but international bank wire withdrawals are subject to a standard fee of up to $20.

Funding your trading account can be executed through a variety of electronic and traditional methods. Supported payment options include credit/debit cards (such as Visa and MasterCard), Apple Pay, local bank transfers, international bank wires, and various eWallets like Neteller, Skrill, Paysafecard, and Voucherry. iFOREX does not levy any internal deposit fees, ensuring that 100% of your transferred capital is credited directly to your trading balance.

When requesting a payout, funds must be returned to the original source of deposit due to international anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. Card and eWallet withdrawals do not incur internal broker fees. However, if you choose to withdraw funds via international bank wire, iFOREX applies a processing fee of up to $20, while Japanese clients may face a ¥2,000 charge and Indian clients are charged $5 for local and $20 for international wires.

In terms of processing speed, iFOREX executes withdrawal requests internally within 3 to 5 business days. Once processed, funds sent via eWallets arrive almost instantly, bank wires take an additional 3 to 5 days, and credit card refunds can take up to 28 days depending on the individual bank's clearing cycle.

Genuine complaints regarding withdrawals are almost exclusively linked to compliance bottlenecks. Payouts will not be authorized for unverified accounts, meaning users who attempt to withdraw before completing their KYC questionnaire or uploading mandatory identity documents face immediate delays. Furthermore, some users have expressed frustration with the broker's legacy security protocol, which occasionally requires clients to print, sign, and upload a manual credit card declaration form prior to their first successful payout.

iFOREX Trading Platforms, Conditions & Experience

iFOREX delivers a highly customized proprietary trading environment, offering access to over 750 instruments across global markets, though its lack of popular MT4 and MT5 platform integrations may deter algorithmic traders.

Does iFOREX Support MT4, MT5 & Mobile Trading?

iFOREX rejects third-party software integrations like MetaTrader, opting instead to deliver its proprietary FXnet trading system and mobile application. Novice and casual traders will find the proprietary platform highly intuitive, but experienced professionals who depend on MetaTrader’s ecosystem will be disappointed. FXnet is web-based, meaning it requires no local software installation and can be loaded from any desktop browser. The platform incorporates advanced charting tools, multiple timeframes, and built-in market analysis instruments. For mobile traders, the iFOREX App (available on iOS and Android) offers a seamless transition from the desktop web experience, containing full account management capabilities and real-time execution features.

  • "The proprietary FXnet platform is highly optimized for manual execution, featuring an intuitive interface that streamlines order placement and portfolio monitoring."
  • "Expert advisors (EAs) and custom automated trading indicators are entirely unsupported due to the complete lack of MT4 and MT5 platform integration."

What Can You Trade on iFOREX? (markets and instruments)

iFOREX lists more than 750 multi-asset CFDs, allowing clients to diversify portfolios across forex, shares, indices, commodities, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies. This extensive asset list ensures that traders can hedge or specialize according to shifting global market dynamics. While forex remains a core specialty, the broker's selection of individual equities and specialized index trackers makes it highly competitive.

  • Tradable asset classes: forex, shares, indices, commodities, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies.
  • "Forex pairs: Over 90 major, minor, and exotic currency pairs are available with tight spreads."
  • "Global shares: Hundreds of blue-chip international stocks can be traded as CFDs, including major US, European, and Asian corporate entities."
  • "Indices and commodities: Popular benchmark index CFDs like the Tech 100 trade alongside precious metals, energy products, and agricultural softs."
  • "ETFs and cryptocurrencies: A targeted selection of exchange-traded funds and major digital currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum are accessible 24/7."

iFOREX Leverage, Margin & Order Execution

iFOREX utilizes a dealing-desk execution model with maximum leverage limits ranging from 1:30 under European frameworks to 1:400 for international clients. As a market maker, the broker acts as the direct counterparty to its clients’ trades. This execution model allows iFOREX to provide stable pricing and rapid order execution, even during periods of heavy market liquidity strain. However, traders should be aware that market maker models present an inherent conflict of interest, as the broker manages client risk exposure internally. Margin requirements are strictly monitored, and if an account's equity falls below the mandatory maintenance margin, the platform will automatically close open positions to prevent negative balance accumulation.

iFOREX Research Tools & Educational Resources

iFOREX distinguishes itself through a robust educational suite headlined by personalized 1-on-1 training and its proprietary 'Pulse' market sentiment engine. Rather than just offering generic PDF guides, the broker prioritizes interactive learning structures that help beginners safely understand market dynamics. This educational focus is paired with real-time research tools integrated directly into the web platform, allowing traders to translate theory into market execution.

  • "A dedicated personal trading coach is assigned to new clients, providing customized 1-on-1 training sessions to walk through platform functions and basic technical analysis."
  • "The proprietary 'Pulse' tool delivers live sentiment feeds, social trends, and real-time community activity on selected trading assets."
  • "Standard research features such as a real-time economic calendar, daily financial news, and expert market summaries are built directly into the FXnet dashboard."

How Good Is iFOREX Customer Support?

iFOREX supports traders globally with high-quality, multi-language support channels operating Monday through Friday between 04:00 and 20:00 GMT. Unlike many modern discount brokers that restrict communication to automated AI chatbots, the firm maintains a strong human support network. This accessibility is highly valued by clients who require urgent technical or compliance assistance during standard market hours.

  • "Live chat assistance is accessible directly through both the FXnet web portal and the mobile application, connecting users to human operators in minutes."
  • "Local phone support lines are active in dozens of countries, including dedicated offices in the UAE, India, Mexico, and South Africa."
  • "Specific email departments handle separate queries, with dedicated addresses for general support, technical troubleshooting, and institutional partnerships."

Who Is iFOREX Best For?

iFOREX is ideal for self-directed beginners who value structured educational resources and simplified platform interfaces, but it is poorly suited for automated scalpers and algorithmic traders.

Is iFOREX Good for Beginners?

iFOREX is highly recommended for beginner traders due to its low $100 deposit requirement, user-friendly proprietary platform, and access to dedicated personal coaches. While many discount brokerages abandon new clients to navigate the markets alone, this broker distinguishes itself by providing structured human interaction. Assigning a dedicated personal trading coach to walk through basic technical concepts and platform mechanics dramatically lowers the retail learning curve. Furthermore, the web-based FXnet platform is far less intimidating than MetaTrader, allowing novices to easily grasp risk management, order types, and multi-asset exposure without getting bogged down by complicated software configurations.

Is iFOREX Good for Scalpers and Algorithmic Traders?

iFOREX is not suitable for high-frequency scalpers or automated algorithmic traders who require ultra-low latency execution and third-party API integration. Because the broker utilizes a dealing-desk execution model where it acts as the primary market maker, it manages risk internally rather than routing every order directly to an external liquidity pool. This structure is naturally incompatible with rapid, micro-second scalping strategies. More importantly, because the FXnet platform completely rejects MetaTrader compatibility, clients cannot run automated Expert Advisors (EAs), backtest algorithmic strategies, or install custom trading bots, making this environment purely manual.

Is iFOREX Good for Swing and Position Traders?

iFOREX is well-suited for swing and position traders who prioritize stable pricing, a massive asset catalog, and competitive overnight holding costs over raw-spread day trading. For traders who hold positions for days, weeks, or months, paying a raw-spread broker a flat commission on entry and exit is less advantageous than capitalizing on stable overnight swap rates. iFOREX’s overnight rollover fees closely track interbank rates, minimizing the long-term carrying cost of running multi-week positions. The broker's massive catalog of over 750 instruments—particularly global shares and specialized exchange-traded funds (ETFs)—gives macro-oriented position traders the necessary tools to diversify their portfolios across international economic sectors.

Best for: Manual swing traders, novice traders seeking structured personal coaching, and long-term CFD investors · Less ideal for: High-frequency scalpers, automated algorithmic traders, and professional traders reliant on the MetaTrader ecosystem.

Compare iFOREX with Other Popular Brokers

iFOREX remains a highly unique market maker that relies entirely on proprietary software, setting it apart from competitors that utilize standard third-party platforms and raw-spread pricing.

iFOREX vs Exness

The primary distinction between these two brokers is that iFOREX forces all trading onto its proprietary manual app, whereas Exness focuses on automated algorithmic execution across MetaTrader and proprietary software. Exness operates with an extremely accessible $10 minimum deposit, whereas iFOREX requires a standard $100 starting capital. In terms of pricing, iFOREX charges variable, spread-only fees averaging 1.1 pips on EUR/USD; by contrast, its competitor provides raw-spread accounts with zero-pip minimums paired with a flat commission. While iFOREX limits its regulatory protections to Cyprus (CySEC) and the British Virgin Islands, Exness holds a wider portfolio of top-tier licenses, including oversight in South Africa and the United Kingdom.

iFOREX is the better choice for hand-holding educational support; Exness suits automated and budget-conscious traders more.

iFOREX vs AvaTrade

The critical difference between these brokers lies in their copy-trading capabilities and platform choices, as iFOREX completely rejects automated copy systems in favor of manual trading, while AvaTrade fully supports automated mirror trading. Both brokers maintain an identical $100 minimum deposit requirement, making them highly accessible for retail beginners. However, iFOREX operates on variable spreads starting from 1.1 pips; on the other hand, its competitor charges fixed spreads starting from 0.9 pips, shielding traders from volatile pricing. AvaTrade operates under strict regulations across Europe, Australia, and Japan. By comparison, iFOREX relies on tier-2 CySEC and offshore BVI FSC regulatory bodies.

iFOREX is the better choice for tailored 1-on-1 personal coaching; AvaTrade suits copy-traders and MetaTrader users more.

iFOREX vs IC Markets

The single biggest difference between these platforms is their execution model, as iFOREX acts as a dealing-desk market maker, whereas IC Markets operates as a raw-spread ECN broker. For high-frequency traders, IC Markets offers near-zero pips on standard majors for a $7 per lot round-turn commission; on the other hand, iFOREX incorporates all costs into a standard 1.1 pip markup with zero commissions. iFOREX’s proprietary web platform lacks automated trading support. The ECN competitor, by contrast, supports advanced automated trading, algorithmic optimization, and scalping via MT4, MT5, and cTrader. While the ECN broker mandates a higher starting deposit of $200, iFOREX offers a lower entry point at $100.

iFOREX is the better choice for novice manual traders; IC Markets suits professional high-volume scalpers more.

iFOREX Broker Quick Verdict

Our comprehensive iFOREX review concludes that the platform is an excellent entry point for manual retail traders who appreciate high-quality 1-on-1 coaching and a simplified web interface. However, its dealing-desk execution model, standard variable spreads, and refusal to support MetaTrader 4 or 5 make it a poor fit for automated algorithmic traders or high-frequency scalpers.

Editorial Transparency: This iFOREX review is based on information from the official iFOREX website, current regulatory filings, and independent third-party sources such as Trustpilot [1]. We cross-checked the broker's regulation and license details, account types, trading and non-trading fees, deposit and withdrawal terms, platforms, and real user feedback to ensure accuracy and objectivity. This content is for educational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice; trading CFDs carries a high risk of losing money. Last updated: June 2026.

Gaining valubale experience here while trading forex and stocksTheir blog is well updated, read its last article on Nifty 50 vs S&P 500 & DAX...goot to know what is going on with indices. Wanted to leave a positive review abou the only account type they offer. 400x seems like low, but it’s more than enough. The rest trading terms are just dope - spreads, execution, deposit bonus…

The only issue with iforex that I noticed is that spreads tend to widen a lot during high volatility. It’s been like that recently when I was trading gold. Yeah, I should have stayed aside and not taken any trades, but I saw a great set up to enter and encountered wide spreads. However, during normal trading conditions fees are not bad (0.4-0.5 during sessions). Apart from that, brokers are performing greatly. Been trading for two years, executions and withdrawals didn’t let me down once.

Almost every second review in iforex reviews was talking about their age. Old is gold, as people say. Well, not always, when spreads are not super tight and there are no accounts for scalpers. But, they were reliable and even had our Korean payment methods and in our own currencies. Actually this localization that not many brokers was willing to offer this was decisive to choose them over others
