The Lantern Keeper’s Rule

22 hours ago BrokersView

At the edge of a busy harbor stood a lighthouse with three lamps.

The first lamp burned brighter than the others. “Look how far I can shine,” it said.

The second lamp changed color whenever ships arrived. “Look how many sailors notice me,” it said.

The third lamp was smaller. It simply kept the same rhythm: light, dark, light, dark.

One foggy night, a young captain sailed toward the harbor.

The bright lamp caught his eye, but the light disappeared whenever the fog grew thick.

The colorful lamp looked impressive, but the captain could not tell whether its signal meant “come closer” or “stay away.”

Then he noticed the small lamp.

It never promised anything. It simply followed its pattern.

The captain followed the signal and reached the harbor safely.

The next morning, he asked the lighthouse keeper: “Why does the smallest lamp guide ships better than the brightest one?”

The keeper replied: “Because sailors do not need a light that attracts them. They need a signal they can understand when visibility disappears.”

Only then did the captain understand that the story was not really about lamps.

The Hidden Meaning

The harbor = the financial market

The captain = the investor

The lighthouse = a Forex broker

The bright lamp = aggressive marketing and attractive offers

The changing colors = unclear or inconsistent information

The steady signal = transparent and consistent trading conditions

The fog = market volatility and uncertainty

The safe harbor = an informed trading decision

The hidden Forex concept is transparency and disclosure.

A broker's most attractive feature may not be its most important one. Investors also need to understand spreads, leverage, margin requirements, fees, execution conditions, and the legal entity providing the service.

When the market becomes difficult, clear information matters more than bright promises.

A useful signal does not need to be the loudest. It needs to remain clear when the fog arrives.
