Scope Markets Promotes John Murphy to Managing Director

7時間前 BrokersView

Scope Markets has promoted longtime executive John Murphy to Managing Director, placing him in charge of the broker’s global strategy, growth, and overall performance as the company continues expanding across multiple regions and client segments.

Murphy has been part of the Scope Markets and ROSTRO Group leadership team for more than three years. He most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer of the wider ROSTRO Group, following over three years as Chief Revenue Officer at Scope Markets, where he led sales, business development, and market expansion initiatives.

In his new role, Murphy will focus on accelerating Scope Markets’ retail growth strategy while continuing to work closely with the broader ROSTRO Group, which acquired the broker in 2022. He said the appointment reflects an increased emphasis on the Scope Markets brand and the opportunities ahead for its retail business.

Prior to joining Scope Markets, Murphy spent nearly eight years at OANDA, where he held several senior leadership positions, including Global Head of Sales and Head of UK. Earlier in his career, he also worked at Alpari and FXCM.

The promotion comes as Scope Markets continues to strengthen its international presence under the ROSTRO umbrella, while sister brand Scope Prime expands its institutional and digital asset offerings. Murphy succeeds former CEO Jacob Plattner, who departed the group and later co-founded broker Azul Markets.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Murphy thanked clients, partners, colleagues, and the wider ROSTRO team for their support, adding that he is looking forward to leading the next phase of Scope Markets’ growth.
