Rakuten Securities Reports Net Income of ¥5.248 Billion in H1 2021

Rakuten Securities, a Japanese FX, CFD and stock broker, has reported its financial results for H1 of 2021. The financial services platform reported strong growth in revenue and net income.

According to the results, the Tokyo-headquartered company generated an operating income of more than ¥8.447 billion during the first half of 2021, which is 17.2% higher than the same period in 2020. During the first half of 2020, the company posted an operating income of ¥7.205 billion.

For H1 of 2021, the broker posted net income of ¥5.248 billion, which is 9% higher compared to the same period in 2020. In H1 of 2020, Rakuten Securities posted net income of ¥4.813 billion.

In terms of the three months ending on June 30, 2021, the operating income of the Japanese broker came in at ¥2.8 billion for the period, while the ordinary income stood at ¥3 billion. The net income took a hit, remaining at ¥1.67 billion, which is down by 21.5 percent year-over-year.

Rakuten Securities has been regularly expanding its offering. Earlier this month, the company announced that it will add stocks of 200 companies listed on US exchanges to its offering.
